What would it take? Kings are in need of a shakeup and Montreal could use a big physical LWer that can play up and down the lineup.

McCarron for King? Too much? I don't think McCarron's upside is greater than what King is now, but its an unknown.

Flynn + 3rd for King? He'd bring some speed to LA.

Montreal could roll...

Pac - Galch - Gallagher
King - Plek - Radulov
Lehk - DD - Shaw

As much as i dislike king i would not let him go for less then a 2nd and 3rd in a different year. He played 19 mins + last game and was not a - in a 6 3 loss No way we give him up for nothing sorry

Montreal needs a big physical center more than a LW. McCarron stays and so does Flynn.

No trades on the horizon for Montreal, especially this early into the season.

worth more then that Hes playing on a line with kopitar right now and holding his own (and it pains me to type that) I would rather have picks then a prospect that may or may not fit in the system

never happen King is a management favourite He will only be traded for something worth it and a 3rd is way to low for what he does

What does he do exactly? Going back to last season, he has 4 points in his last 30 games! At best, you'll get 15 goals from him and I doubt even that. Not to mention he is a UFA at the end of the year. Every team has a Dwight King or five in their organization. Not sure what makes him so special.

this is probably going to make me sick to type this out but here goes Hes cheap can play 200 foot hockey on any line. Has played 20 mins in game. Last year was injured and didn't really get back into the swing of things. He is also a coaches favourite first choice to move up in the lineup Sutter likes him. Sutter has forgotten more about hockey then either of us will ever know and if he trusts king to move up who are we to question him? He has proven he can score ( has a 15 goal season) This was also a season where he had little or no pp time. He is big body his physical play wheres down players.

he also has 69 post season games with 25 points in them. Hes only 27 still in his prime and has 2 shinny rings I don't see any team having 5 dwight kings in the organization

He's had 15 goals already, 12 goals, and was on pace for that again last year if not for injury. He's got the IQ to play on all lines in all situations (although top-six as a fill in, not permanently), he's got massive size and is good on the boards. He's a fantastic third-liner. But at least you're doing a full player evaluation based on 30 game point totals after injury.

He's not a world beater or anything 'so special' but he's not some run of the mill player, he's got the Kings' WCF goal-scoring record after all and some big playoff goals and plays. No one is saying trade him for a first or anything so I'm not sure what you're crusading against (other than being a Ducks fan and trying to needle).

McCarron is probably too much for him so I'd do it in a second :P though those who have said 2nd round pick are in the right ballpark imo.

thank you for adding this Its probably a more honest opinion on him then mine lol I would rather have picks for him then a prospect even a huge one like McCarron We have one on the right side coming in Auger who is even bigger and already playing king style hockey With toffoli brown and lewis we are kinda set on rw for a while and i don't see him out playing shore or dowd for a center spot. Nice player but no spot to play him. With the 2nd and 3rd we get a player we want or extra picks to trade for a upgrade where we need it

also nice to know u ve read this thread so when i vent on king at least u ll know i have defended him as well :P

Lehkonen is already a better player overall than king, the only thing king has over Lehkonen is toughness

for once the habs top 6 is actually a strengh in the line up

and before you suggest that king play on the 3rd line, at the deadline for some picks fine, for now i want to see what carr can do

Ghetto+2nd pick for King@15% retained seems fair to me.

a second got Petry, Shaw and Vanek. MB knows how to use his second round picks. Would very much prefer if they keep those picks as assets to acquire better players at the deadline and make a big push for the P/O and/or Cup.
