Duplicate Players in Franchise Mode

When creating a custom team and substituting it for a team in franchise mode, you get two of every player, one on the custom team and one on their actual NHL team. Is there a way to move players to the custom team prior to starting so that there will only be one copy of them? Is there somewhere I can move a player so they essentially disappear from franchise mode?

There are a few ways to go about this.

When you create your custom team initially you can just fill it with players from outside the NHL/AHL/CHL. Then before your franchise mode, make the necessary roster moves.

OR

Since it looks like you've already got the players you want, find the duplicates in roster movement and banish them outside the NHL.

DO NOT place them in the free agency pool, stick them in the euro-leagues.
