Duncan Keith sucks.

I remember being irate at Keith only getting one game for that slash of Carter's head. Knew right then and there that league discipline would never be anything other than a total joke. That should have been ten games or more. Total deliberate slash that was intended to hurt. What a piece of garbage he is.

The league had a chance to teach him not to be a clown on the Daniel Sedin elbow to the head.

Pre-meditated head shot to the reigning Art Ross winner's head, caused a serious concussion which he hasn't even recovered from today. 5 games for that was a complete joke and in line with them letting him elbow a bunch of guys in the head previous to this incident.

all the hallmarks of a massive suspension

1) pre-meditated- check
2) injury on the play- check
3) no puck, illegal use of his elbow- check
4) star player injured, as much as we hate it there's a precedent- check

He clearly hasn't learned a thing, and you're seeing what happens when someone has basically full immunity.

Major props to Cherry for that video and putting his Canadian bias aside, respect.

We have Lapierre's uber goon hit this year....He even called and apologized since it was an accident. Dats just dertay

No doubt it was a bad hit, but there was some terrible luck involved too. Boyle lost an edge just before Lapierre delivered the hit, which dropped his chin to the exact height of the dasher at the time he got hit. It still would have been a bad hit, but if he hadn't slipped I don't think he would have gotten hurt like that.

Yeah I agree with the post above.

Quite frankly if Boyle doesn't get knocked out, nobody talks about it. I don't even think the official had his arm up for a penalty until he saw Boyle's condition.

Not saying it's good to shove someone from behind, but it's a play that happens a lot, it just unfortunately was a freak thing that turned out bad.

Yeah the injury definitely drew the attention. But it just goes to show why that type of shove from behind can be dangerous.

It was meant with sarcasm. On mobile I don't have the smilies

Jackman is a chippy player. Always has been. Who did he learn from? Chopper.... From a team that brings you Al MacInnis and Chris Pronger, I don't think we need to be sticking our nose up to Duncan Keith. Both did more than their share of teeth removal in their time with a good crosscheck slash or elbow. Perhaps if Petro would learn something from all three of them, then he might create some space for himself. Doughty, Chelios, Suter, Bourque, Weber, Potvin, Orr, Coffey, and yes...Lidstrom, etc. They picked their spots. Be careful when you decide to run them. You might get a surprise of your own.

Dirty player. Still won't forgive him for slashing Jeff Carter in the face during last year's playoffs.

To me that just makes it more unforgivable. There's no need for him to be running around taking liberties that expose other players to potential avoidable injuries.....unless he's TRYING to cause injuries. Which makes him a fink.

He's a winner. Like him or not, what he does helps his team win games. Likely as much as any other player in hockey.

The Blues need players like him if they are ever going to take the next step and win the Stanley Cup.

You can be a winner without being a dirtbag. Look at guys like Bergeron, Toews, Kopitar, etc. They're warriors and anchors for their teams, bu they aren't dirty. Keith is a piece of crap. You won't see Bergeron slashing somebody in the face or throwing blatant chicken wings at people.

But you will see Chara and others do it. Not bashing Chara. Every team has players who take liberties.

He prefers ramming their head into a stanchion, or sucker punching a guy with a broken jaw straight in the face after the whistle. Chara's no choir boy.

Stevens, Pronger, Ramage, and MacInnis all won cups were far from clean players, especially in the playoffs. Suck or not in anyone's opinion, you saw why Keith is an actual elite defenseman and the Blues don't have a player close. Only player who comes to mind with his spirit and skill is Backes. Nullify him and the Blues don't have the same appearance. JBo and Petro both have the skill set all around, but they need an edge and much needed physical side to their game. The NHL isn't the Olympics. They don't strike any fear in anyone. You look for Chara, Doughty, and Keith, when you cross the blue line. They want to win and will do whatever it takes to do so.
