He's a second pairing caliber guy, but ever since his injury a few years ago, he's not spectacular in any facet. Not a lot of offense anymore, still pretty average defensively, will occasionally use the body still. Just very average in every way.

I wouldn't wanna give him more than 4.5M but he very well could get more than that.

Yeah I feel like he's a 4.5-5M player but in free agency he could get the Myers type 6x6 or perhaps even a little richer now as the cap goes up.

And like most UFA signings he will be overpaid and the fans will dislike him for it. lol

Right in. Habs looking for right D. Dumba don't sound like an answer for them.

I don't see how MN can re-sign, with their cap difficulties coming, and the NMC's that their other top Dmen, Brodin and Spurgeon, have. Having said that, they seem to like him, and I could be completely wrong.
He's a strong skater and shooter, can carry the puck, and is aggressive physically. He's a top 3 Dman in TOI, points, and even points. Can play both PP and PK.

I don't know what he's worth, In the past I would've said about 4.5- 5.5M/yr, but salaries have zoomed up. I think he'll get something like a 30-35M contract, if he stays healthy and has 25-30 pts.

I could see Dumba winding up in Ottawa. Price range should be about right for the space they'll have with an extended DeBrincat and they need someone there that can calm that side of the D and bring some stability.

For those forgetting, what was the injury?

Canucks will sign Dumba or Severson this off-season. Maybe both. Depends how many of Myers/OEL/Boeser/Garland/Pearson they trade away.

5 yrs X 5 million at minimum no?
Gudbranson got 4 x 4 iirc?
Risto's deal!!?

Some GM will pay him to chew up minutes if he's peaked and a slightly above average #4 D at this point of his career.

Well, his shot has been clocked at 100 mph this year.
I'm not sure what exactly has changed with his shot, but he used to actually injure players through their pads with it when they tried to block it. He used to be an ~8.5% shooter in the seasons before the injury, and has been a ~6% shooter since. He still shoots just as much (a little more, actually), but isn't scoring as often.

If we're resigning Debrincat we'll likely need to trade both Zaitsev and Joseph if we want to squeeze Dumba in.

I'd wonder if Dumba would sign much cheaper than anyone expects with a contending team for one year to try to raise his value again.

It always depends on the number, but seeing what has happened with Klingberg would have to give him pause.

Maybe, but Klingberg is also on Anaheim so if Dumba can get a deal from a contender, he might feel he could do better on a good team.
