Confirmed with Link: Ducks sign Tim Washe to ELC (1 year, $975k)

The 6'3" Washe is playing in his fifth NCAA season with the Broncos, and he's emerged as a leader on and off the ice. In addition, he's continued to improve his two-way game, turning him into a legitimate NHL prospect. In 41 games this year, he's recorded 16 goals and 20 assists for 36 points to finish tied for second on the team in scoring.

But what scouts and NHL teams find the most alluring about Washe is his physical game. His offensive improvement this season is notable and helping his case, but he projects like a future third-line center that matches up against your opponent's top line. He's tenacious in puck pursuit, limits gaps like a defensemen, and plays the body every chance he gets.

Tim Washe (free agent): Washe, the Broncos’ captain, was named to the All-Tournament Team and was a big part of Western Michigan’s success on and off the ice this season. He’s a well-rounded center who can play with anyone and do whatever’s needed of him.

Grit, faceoffs, leadership...yep gotta love this for a free agent pickup. Should have a legit shot at playing his way into a bottom six role.

FWIW he's an 01 born which is the same age as Zegras, Colangelo and Nesterenko, also same as Caulfield, Lopina and Lindmark on the Gulls. A year older than Mysak and Wiebe, a couple years older than Pastujov and Gaucher.

Welcome, Mr. Washe Washe. I no have your shirt!

I wonder if he and Colangelo played on a line together 5v5 last year, could be a natural fit if so.

Hopefully can develop into a better version of Lundestrom.
Perfect situation for him.
His agent looks at who the Ducks got as centers in their bottom 6 and sees a great chance for his client to take the job from Lundestrom. Great to have competition for next years 4C. Washe vs Gaucher.
Lundestrom probably non tendered.

Adding talent for no cost (other than signing bonus and salary this year) is a great move. If he pans out, he'll fit a clear need on the ducks. Only upside here.

Sounds like there was competition to sign this player. Kudos to Verbeek for getting it done.

A more finished product is great for the Ducks. Hopefully the transition to the pros won't take too long. Great get from Verbeek and possibly assist from Colangelo, a WMU alum.

Hmmm... can we hire WMU's assistant coach for the summer and make a FO summer camp that includes Carlsson, Mac, Z, and Strome?! Here's a snippet from the Athletic article on Washe:
