As long as they get them signed I don’t care how they do itThis is such a stupid scheme being applied to NCAA players whose season ended early, sign an ATO and then an ELC. Last year was Colangelo. This year is Moore.
Didn't someone else say it's due to the number of call ups for the season? ATO lets the prospects get some AHL games then sign the contract so they don't burn a call up. This late in the season it probably doesn't make a difference, but just in case there was a run of injuries. This is such a stupid scheme being applied to NCAA players whose season ended early, sign an ATO and then an ELC. On the plus side, we don't have much talent left in the NCAA. All of the rest are 5th round picks or further down the draft.
RW Kukkonen, a 6th rd pick from 2021, will be a senior next year. If he doesn't do better than his freshman year, then he probably won't be signed.
RW Callow, a 5th round pick from 2022, has two more years at Harvard. He had a sophomore slump this season.
RW Burnevik, a 6th rd pick from 2024, has three more seasons at St. Cloud State. He had a great freshman season as he lead the team in goal scoring (13g) and points (28 pts).

I mean if you can explain how this affects the team or any player in any negative way then go for itThat's similar to, "Look at the standings. We're a better team and looking forward to another season under Cronin."
Your extreme overreactions always make for a good laugh. Thank you. That's similar to, "Look at the standings. We're a better team and looking forward to another season under Cronin."
They are a better team. No one thought this team was making the playoffs. That's similar to, "Look at the standings. We're a better team and looking forward to another season under Cronin."
Is it because it was Verbeek that started that scheme & it wasn't ur favorite GM that came up with the scheme ?This is such a stupid scheme being applied to NCAA players whose season ended early, sign an ATO and then an ELC. Last year was Colangelo. This year is Moore.

I remember watching them both at Harvard and at the time it felt wrong to think this but it seemed that Moore might have a chance to be better - better, yet unfilled, frame, way better skater and just raw in general. I think he has never had much of an offfense in him tho, but it seemed he cn play.Good news. IMO good chance he’s better than Thrun
I think Thrun is probably more offensively skilled but Moore can be more well-rounded. And we have plenty of offensive guys (all of whom I believe have more offensive potential than Thrun)I remember watching them both at Harvard and at the time it felt wrong to think this but it seemed that Moore might have a chance to be better - better, yet unfilled, frame, way better skater and just raw in general. Will be interesting how this all plays out
I think there’s a valid concern in adding an extra step to getting them locked up. If they decide they don’t like the area or the organization, it’s pretty easy for them to then walk away. If the concern is using them as a call up, sign them give them one game to burn the season, then send them down. The Ducks weren’t making the playoffs by the time he was signed, so him playing wouldn’t have made a difference. They are a better team. No one thought this team was making the playoffs.
Also, whatever the reason they have, it appears that the college kids are on board because they could easily become free agents if they weren’t.
Pretty much. And Thrun has always looked slow to me. Moore should have all the tools to keep up with a fast pace game, but the question is probably if his brain can keep up – feels like that is where Thrun is very skilled.I think Thrun is probably more offensively skilled but Moore can be more well-rounded.
