GDT: Ducks at Leafs @ 7pm on SNO ... Dec 12th 2024

Certainly a prime opportunity to pull off a convincing win which would do them a world of good. Need to slow down on the parade to the box as well.
 
Since Gibson played last night and got smoked a little to the tune of 5-1 in a loss, pretty safe bet we get to see Dostal in net for the Ducks who's been fairly lights out, at least by looking at his stats (.921 svp). The last 5 games, he's only given up two or three goals a game. This looks like it's going to be a sneakily tough game.

Maybe last year. But did you see the look on Matthews face after the OT winner the other night ?

I was surprised how intense it was. It was like Papi is pissed he missed a slew of games and wasn't playing up to his standard. That goal could be the start of something. I can see him snapping and getting back to his dominant self. No way I'd bet against Matthews right now. Not against the Ducks. I'd take the Leafs money line and Matthews to score again and get 3+ shots as a single game parlay. But I don't really care about the gambling stuff. I'm more intrigued by Matthews right now and if he can push it to another level and establish himself as a legit captain even now that he's out of the trophy races. Matthews has another level in him we haven't seen yet and I think this OT goal was a glimpse of it.

Ducks are so bad. You'd think they would have been better by now. How many years can your team can get filled in before you question if the rebuild is actually going well?

Leafs fans are kind of spoiled that we had 3 huge prospects fulfill their potential. If only that were the case for other rebuilds.

Look at Buffalo and Ottawa. Sometimes it never clicks even with star talent. At least the Ducks have a cabinet of highly touted forwards coming up at the same time. Zegras not reaching his potential might hurt them big though. Their other young players could change things. On paper doesn't always translate to on ice. That's what's probably going to happen in Anaheim.

Thankfully the Thursday Night Football game looks like a good one.

Can’t see this game being close with Anaheim playing last night

I think it's poor taste Tavares and Domi are associated with this guy now through endorsing this crap.

If they really cared about the social causes they are said to endorse they would refuse to have anything to do with this product of questionable practical use being endorsed by a man of questionable merit.
