Most of the country rocks a 25%+ obesity rate in adults. This is what drives US consumerism and habit. These are the LCD's, and selling fruit, which is healthy (at least by comparison to the typical diet) covered in sugar, it's something that tastes good and is potentially seen as a healthier choice.

It's mind-blowing.

When I got back from my trip to Europe last summer, the second I got off the plane at Dulles, I immediately saw a fat man shoving two hot dogs into his face at the gate. My first day back at work, and this is not a word of a lie, I saw a woman driving a mid 00's Ford Ranger, eating a McDonald's hamburger, WITH NO HANDS. She had the burger proped up in her mouth, and used her tongue to shovel it into her mouth. She had one arm out the window, so it's not for lack of appropriate tools.

Such stark contrast coming from the relatively healthy countries in Europe we had just spent half the month in.

America is dumb, son.
