Really like the guide and all the info in it! I wish you guys spoke more about the shortcomings of the draftees though, just to give a more complete picture of why someone is ranked ahead of someone else. But that's just me nitpicking a very good product.

I wanted to ask you how much (or little) debate there was when ranking the top 5 or so D in this draft. Seems like a stronger draft for defensemen than forwards, but all the D seem to be different flavors of the same taste (with the exception of Silayev). Were they ranked on ceiling? Potential to reach the ceiling? Floor? Was there a lot of agreement or disagreement on the ranking some prospects?

Just interested in hearing what was valued most when ranking the top D. Thanks for the great work!

Yes, our teams ranking debates this season from October on were far more varying especially at the top compared to other years. The defenseman in this class all have some big time tools but also deficiencies that some scouts saw as upside threatening while others think are highly and easily correctable. There is also the size bias that we try to not have as you watch todays NHL game and see so many average or even below average sized defensemen thriving. We try to look at the tool kit but it is more about projecting them into NHL roles that drive our rankings. Without naming names, I will end with this. Many prospects look like elite talents at the junior level due to their sharpened abilities and physical development but they lack the high-end processor needed to utilize those gifts in a high pace NHL game, and our rankings this year reflect that view.

Still fighting with KDP (publisher) to get this out. Should be this week.
