NHL Draft lottery race II - Bruins currently have 4th or 5th Pick

While I think Desnoyers is an outstanding kid who would be a great addition to the Bruins, I hope he's spending equal time on the other top prospects.
I would hate for Desnoyers to get taken before we pick and Donny standing there like a certain year that should not be mentioned.
This offseason IMO will be 95% of the focus when (some here and there) will judge his performance as a GM on.
There's a lot of pressure on Sweeney and scouts to get this pick right - a month ago we would all have been happy with the 8th overall, now we're spoiled and want something higher - I wonder if even Sweeney wouldn't mind the 6th or 7th pick at this point, let all the other teams pick their hunches and leave Sweeney with what's left of the top tier, in that way Sweeney won't be faulted for making the wrong pick haha

People would bitch he didn't move-up.

I hope he’s not thinking that way. Dam if he is, that would 100% solidify it for me, that he’s the wrong man for the job.

yea it would be very Bruins for the Panthers to finally choke when it would hurt the Bruins instead of benefitting them.
Even if it is the second. This tank is not successful if Marchand is still here. I absoultely think we are 4+ points higher in the standings right now with him. That leaves us praying to win the lottery or hoping damaged goods drop so that we can take on that risk. The biggest part of the TDL and Marchand deal especially was this year's pick.

Give me one of the top 7 and I am all smiles. WIth the caveat that 7 has to be Eklund if the presumed top 6 are gone. :)

Many of them have already exited the scene at this point (no more games) . I have no doubt that Sweeney will be everywhere he can possibly go to watch talent over the next 2 months.

The Bruins aren’t going to rest guys in the last game of the season at home. If they didn’t in Pittsburgh, they won’t tomorrow.
Luckily Philly and Seattle are both playing their last home games too so should be playing hard for their fans.
Sucks for the fans at the game but the Bs need to lay an egg tomorrow.

They're not gonna lay an egg at home tomorrow. It's not game 7 of the playoffs. When they need to lose they are going to end up winning and probably playing the best game they have all season

I just hope they go with best player available and consensus this time around, wherever they pick in the first.

There are hundreds of pages in the archives here with some of our frequent posters defending the Senyshyn reach even five years later, dismissing consensus entirely, but I think when you are looking at the top half of the first round, you just have to go with consensus. Of course there are examples of reaches working out fabulously, but the hit rate on those are much lower than just going with consensus.

He is making the rounds based on where it looks like they will picking. A couple of weeks ago he saw McQueen twice and O'Brien twice when it looked like they would be picking later.

A lot of smoke on the bird app today saying that there will be some sort of resignation on Wednesday. I doubt it’ll be Sweeney with him going around and scouting to prep for this upcoming draft.

post links here if they're legit

what gives me pause on your comment is, if you're a GM who knows they'll need to resign but has a job lined up elsewhere, you're still going to want to have your own knowledge base coming in

that said I will be surprised if Sweeney is fired and if he is and cam stays, it's time to torch and pitchfork this entire organization

is it a concern they don't seem to be scouting the higher up guys? If they win the lottery and have to choose between Schaefer and Misa, I would hate for their information to be solely internet based lol

You would know better than most of us here, what red flags are there for those two that would push the bruins to lean one way or another ?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Misa's season ended on April 5th and Schaefer has been injured with a collarbone injury for months now.

Is there any chance Desnoyers goes that early? Feels like Boston is almost certainly top 6 and I don’t see many sources who have Desnoyers above guys like Hagens, Frondell, Martone.
