Ok, but my point being Sweeney decided to go with Vaak, so you can't blame just the scouting, when Sweeney has the final say, and at the time he thought they were getting a number one shutdown defenseman to go along side McAvoy for the next 10-15 years. Im sure Sweeney also did his due-diligence on each player who was on their list in the first round and came to the conclusion to take Vaak.

This team doesn’t not need a McDavid to compete.

As you’ve mentioned multiple times here, a healthy Hampus & McAvoy, Swayman with training camp, and a competent RH D behind Mac, this team will be competing for the Atlantic top 3. Competitive Bruins hockey should be back next season imo.

I been reading spotted stuff ( not sure if legit or not) that is suggesting Bruins ownership is weighing options regarding Sweeney.Guess we will find out in near future if he is in longterm plans regardless.

Desnoyers arguably could be in there but consensus I’d say that’s pretty close.

No doubt, you never know what teams list looks like hopefully the Bruins get to take their # one or two who’s on their list.

Hell I really wouldn’t say Misa would be two on everyone’s list, but the consensus he more than likely is at 2. Schaefer I’d think would be nearly everyone’s top dog by a wide margin and would be the consensus #1

I don’t see anyone else jumping in there though when McKenzie list comes out.
Unless it is Desnoyers. He’s having a great playoff so far which could catapult him into being one of the consensus top 5.

Martone is 6'3" and 207 lbs. If we are top 4 this is the more likely guy if Sweeney does the big guy thing. Seattle is interested in him but at the moment we'd pick before them. I also see him liking the 2 way aspects of Desnoyers ahead of McQueen. Philly is apparently very interested in Desnoyers but again, they keep winning and we might pick before them too. Hagens of course could be the guy if they are actually looking to change direction and style.

If we are picking 7th or 8th (or lower) I'd share your McQueen concerns but I think with his back issues he drops that low if not lower, even for Sweeney.

That is right a 15 year old D at a PPG place, I saw some highlights, this would be the closest to a an Orr or Bourque type the Bruins could get.

I think the Bruins believe Desnoyers is their guy. They've watched him a lot while scouting Loke Johansson. His defensive game is as good as his offensive game, which probably gives them Bergeron vibes. My guess is, if they win the lottery they go Misa, but if not they go Desnoyers.
