NHL Draft lottery race II - Bruins currently have 4th or 5th Pick

Rangers are a great recent example why you don’t rush it.

They created a 2 year window and burnt down again needing basically another rebuild

Those moves are not going to jump them into the mix next year and you’d be without your -26 1st. Just draft your Knies and go for Knies like moves in -26
Great example. They screwed it up. Gorton was on track.

I’m not even sure if this is serious?

Not that far away, if they manage to land Eichel or McDavid level of a player? So in other words they are million miles apart

You have to add

2-3 high end forwards (including a 1C)
Boost the depth at F
Add RD

And they are competing

Not that far away and you can just do it with cap space and assets? How?

Yes I know hold Pasta is but thr fact is they are at the bottom of the East and have abysmal prospect pool for a team not competing

This is not a 1 year fix, even if you add Beniers

So you draft -25& -26 and go for the big moves in the offseason of 2026. You are still competing at the same time and you have rebuild your prospect pool and don’t live in fantasy land
One thing I’m interested in is Eichel & Necas extensions

Hagens is another Zegras.
Is that good?

I’ve seen him 5 times in the last year or so and he is super smart player and very impressive

He was 17 when his college hockey season started

The Keller comps were interesting but Keller was 18 in the summer and Keller is pretty awesome anyways - he’s a stud

If the Bruins walk away with Hagens - yeehaw

I just need to see and read more stuff on the others

I don’t read anyone screaming to trade their 1st round pick this year (or next).

I’m on board with what Ty Anderson suggested this morning, lots of teams with cap space this summer, he expects the Bruins to be making HOCKEY trades. And don’t discount them using assets to move up in the draft.

They owe it to Pastrnak to ice a competitive roster. This year went to sh*t quickly. You absolutely can’t burn 2 years of Pastrnak’s prime to rebuild the prospect pool. This kid is the best scorer the Bruins have iced since Phil Esposito (that was in the early to mid 1970’s). A sane GM will use the assets he acquired and add some talent to this forward group. Keep your own 1sts and make them count.

I know they will mess it

But you are anyways going to miss another year of prime Pasta and just make the future outlook look worse at the same time

You are not trading/signing for 2 high end forwards to make them competitive next season, while adding to the defense as well

Sometimes you have to admit and realize the situation and deal with it. It ….s they are wasting Pasta but thats’ the World they have built

Doubling down on your mistakes is much more likely going to hurt you more than help you

Floor may be Zegras, Ceiling Jack Hughes type, which is good, but just seems his size could be a concern as well. I would take either Frondell or Desnoyers if all 3 are available when we pick, unless of course we are in the top 2, then it is either Misa or Schaefer. Martone to me is more a Lawson Crouse than a Tkachuk type, as some have said they would hope for him. I saw Desnoyers play live last night, 2 goals, an assist and first star of the game, kid is a gamer.

Hagens is another Zegras.

Personality or performance? The problem I see with Frondell is I don't think he is the strongest skater out of the comparables. I think people get wrapped up with the " big bad Bruins" mythology, which led to the team that you saw this year. And Letourneau. Just a bunch of big guys who get outskated every single night. We need a guy who can skate, has a nice shot, knows how to pass, and that's Hagens at 4. I would also be fine with Desnoyers.

Also keep in mind that Frondell is not even a consensus top 10 pick. Hagens is. Let's not outsmart ourselves in the draft once again by thinking we know things that we really don't. Take the best player on the board.

Is Schaefer that good that if we win the first pick we draft him over Misa?
I think I would.

The scouts making him sound like he might be the next Orr.

If someone sitting 2-3 in the draft wants him so bad they would give up serious assets to get him I’d consider it but it would have to be an offer I couldn’t refuse.

Sounds like Shaefere is the no brainer #1 player in this draft and it’s not even close.

Next years draft is supposed to be deeper with High end talent. If they draft shaefer this year they might be able to grab a top tier centre at next years draft with one of their 2 First overall picks.

I agree, the knock on Frondell is skating, Hagens is a good skater, but size concerns are an issue. If It were me, Desnoyers would be the guy, unless we can get Misa of course.

There could be an Orr type player in 2 years, Landon DuPont will be a special talent.

Frondell isn’t a consensus top 10 pick? What lists are you looking at?

Also, you can compare the skating yourself with his highlight package. And keep in mind, those are the highlights. That's why I don't want him.

With Makar, Hughes, Heiskanen, Hutson dominating from the blueline as 1D’s I really wish the size argument gets more silent

This is a league for fast skilled players that can create
