Teams must be willing to wait for what?

Teams willing to wat for him to develop into a #1 center.

I doubt he plays in the NHL next year, i think he plays in the NHL the year after that. I think it takes 3-4 years for him to get up to 210 pounds and become an absolute force in the league. But I think at 22 he is a legit #1 center PF type

He can’t run the Q again he’s too good for that league. He has to go NCAA route.

What OS did Rangers do that gave them a Knies?

Toronto can go 10% over the cap in the summer? They will match a Knies OS but if there is a world Knies comes to Boston at 8.75M you do it in a heartbeat. Kid is 22 years old only.

Rangers didn’t build their prospect pool good enough and went for the win now moves too early

That was the point. This is a last place team in the East with ZERO A tier prospects and half the fans are screaming already for win now moves

Todays 10;

5, 6, 6, 5, 2, 5, 4, 5, 4, 5

ADP 4.7

Not as encouraging as yesterday’s 3.7

No,No,No do not draft a Swede whatever you do. They're soft, and no heart. Pick a North American player that has size, grit, and can put the puck in the net and happens to be a center which is what we need most.
Alright Felger, isn't today your day off?

Porter Martone- NHL Draft Projection

While the first overall conversation might be a longshot after a scorching hot start to the season, Martone should still hear his name early on in the draft. Most outlets don’t have him any lower than the fourth spot, which would be an ideal spot to take him given his power-forward game, leadership presence and mindset. No matter who selects him, they’re getting a player that’s a hard worker and brings a winning mindset.

My biggest worry with him is if he will have the time and space at the NHL-level to make plays to score goals and make assists. From what I've read, he does seem to have a great character and work ethic so if that carries over at the NHL-level, it seems like he would be willing to make adjustments to improve his game.

He sure does, the only negative Ive seen is a knock on his skating

"Martone isn’t the quickest skater and he does need to improve his agility and footspeed," but he makes up for it with his deceptive and high-end puck control. He’s a nightmare for defenders as he’s difficult to contain with his hands in tight spaces and ability to get around players with ease. His size allows him to shield the puck extremely well, driving to the high danger area and power through to the open ice. He excels at making and executing plays in tight, drawing a number of players in to open things up. He’s an effective playmaker as he’s always spotting seams and making crisp tape-to-tape passes.
For a minute there it sounds like they’re describing a young Rick Nash

I don’t read anyone screaming to trade their 1st round pick this year (or next).

I’m on board with what Ty Anderson suggested this morning, lots of teams with cap space this summer, he expects the Bruins to be making HOCKEY trades. And don’t discount them using assets to move up in the draft.

They owe it to Pastrnak to ice a competitive roster. This year went to sh*t quickly. You absolutely can’t burn 2 years of Pastrnak’s prime to rebuild the prospect pool. This kid is the best scorer the Bruins have iced since Phil Esposito (that was in the early to mid 1970’s). A sane GM will use the assets he acquired and add some talent to this forward group. Keep your own 1sts and make them count.

Man Schaefer’s skating is good. Not to mention his hockey iq and ability to move quick and powerfully out of board battles. Constantly joins the rush. If the bruins win the lottery I’m kinda inclined for them to take him. imagine a top pairing of Schaefer and McAvoy? Jesus f***ing Christ.

This also gives you something to work with on the left if you want to make a trade. Or let Lorhei play on bottom pairing while he gets stronger and works on his defense and then see who of Lindholm or Zadorov can swap to the right side.

If Sweeney could pull it off, getting the first overall and seeing if the sharks prefer Misa, they make a nice trade for Smith or Celebrini and the second overall, grab Schaefer and go into the season with him a new good young center

When is see potential 100 point player that will get selke votes it definitely makes you hungry for Misa if they get the 2nd and sharks take Schaefer (which is probably the most sensible pick if you’re high on the centers you already have)

But Misa has a lot of top line talent

Martone Hagens and Frondell all look great to me, one of them is going to fall to 4-5 so the bruins will have a fun summer either way

Yeah, Forsberg, Lidstrom, Zetterberg, etc…we’re all soft and heartless.

Frondell is a moose and takes the middle of the ice where he unleashes lazers top shelf. Watch him and see if you feel the same way.

Except Knies is a win now player for Toronto and clearly a foundational base for a team just like Boston. So, I don't understand what your issue is with Boston OS Knies
is.

San Jose gets the #1 pick they are going Schaefer for certain. They get #2 and Boston gets #1 they would part with Smith plus for that #1.

Dude they’re not going to trade Will Smith to move up in the draft. And we could offer our next three firsts and seconds and they wouldn’t trade Celebrini. Out to lunch here.

Ah yes. The North American with size and grit. The Bruins are awesome at drafting (or signing) those guys.

Let’s just ask the scout who picked out Letourneau, Beecher, Frederic, etc to pick us another winner.

With Martone, I see more Lawson Crouse then a Tkachuk type.

Can Letourneau play a professional game before labeling him in this light?
My point still stands.

This organization fixates on centers with size and they haven’t hit a winner since Joe Thornton 30 years ago, then they quit early on him. The fact people actually want them to stay on this track baffles me.

I’ll say it again…take the center with the highest upside for skill and talent. Ignore his size and where he comes from. Or failing that, average the rankings from all draft sources on the internet and pick the highest center remaining.

But for the love of God do NOT focus on size or grit. This is a high first round pick. Don’t waste it chasing an identity we haven’t had for 50 years.

I’m with you on the skill thing. But imploring an NHL organization to use internet draft sources - most of which have never seen these players live, talked with coaches and other prominent people in country, or anything like that - to make a draft pick is silly. What qualifies as an internet draft source? There are hundreds - do we care about prior track record?
