I highly doubt that happens.
Misa is at a different level as a player vs Desnoyers right now.
Misa has a 95% chance of being an elite first line forward.
I see Desnoyers being a solid 3rd line center, with the potential of making it as a number 2.
So this draft is so weak that a borderline 5 pick overall is a hopeful 2nd liner?

I get the “odds” of all these guys panning out is low, but when top 5ish guys pan out, they are studs. Not 3rd liners.

Central Scouting has O'Brien ahead of Desnoyers & Martone in its final rankings.
I still don't want McQueen or any major injury risk but the latest rankings allow me to feel more confident if we do go off script earlier with O’Brien or Eklund. I still don't really want Mrtka here but that likely means he ends up the best of the lot.

Kosolov vs Reimer?

That Kosolov start might have just ended us, lol. His last 5 starts have been sub AHL level. Reimer playing for his next deal.

We need some ref help pretty bad

Outside of the top three (Schaefer Misa and Hagens) I think anywhere between 4-9 is an absolute crap shoot. Im partial to picking Frondell or Hagens at 4 depending on whose there. this is just from what I've read
The more we find out opinions from key people like Central Scouting and EP.. The more I'm in line with you're thinking..

Misa, Schaefer go top 2, then the rest of the draft is basically tiers and the real draft begins.

I think we could see some real head scratchers in the top 10. Was watching some Jackson Smith this morning.. That kid skates so smoothly it reminds me of Hampus Lindholm, honestly, so good on his edges. I'll say it until I'm blue in the face, but Radim Mrtka could really surprise people too. I just feel like the NHL is weird with huge right shot D than can skate well.. Kind of like the NFL with quarterbacks.

I really like Benjamin Kindel too. Top 10 feels rich for him, but he's a little energizer bunny out there.

Nadeau was in Baie-Comeau last night.

This tells me that if Sweeney and Nadeau, not to mention McQuaid a couple of weeks ago, have been to the east coast to see him, that Desnoyers is their guy.

Bissonnette won't reveal any info to me. "Just doing their homework "

It could also be just that.
In Moncton twice and in Baie-Comeau is a 3000 word essay, if it's homework.
They must really like him and want to see him in many situations etc.

So, as someone who doesn’t follow the CHL at all, how good is Caleb Desnoyers, will he be NHL-ready next season and do the Bruins have a realistic shot at getting him?

NHL ready next year NO
chance of drafting him YES
Think he is a middle six to top six center that could have a long NHL career
IMO two years (after this season) before he is a regular NHLer

Feeling the same about Mrtka. That kid could realistically go earlier than expected. Similar to Seider in 2019.

I think there is a lot of variables.

You never know where they land. They could pick 1 or 2. They could pick 4-6 too as far as I can tell. If they pick 2 is Desnoyers still their guy?

Is it possible for Schaefer to drop to 4?

Go on YouTube and watch the U18 2024 Gold Medal Game between Canada vs US.
Desnoyers (Martone on his W) and Hagens on the US. Schaefer on D for Canada. Worth
the watch.
