Pronman's list is interesting.

Where is Mrtka on the list?
IMO:
Misa belongs in Tier one. He will be a first line top 3 forward, not sure if LW or C will be his position?

Desnoyers/Martone belong in Tier three.

Frondell/Hagens and Eklund make my Tier 2.

The rest are tier 3.
Pronman has Mrtka in tier 4 (Bubble top and middle of the lineup player) at 13th.

Yeah people keep talking about center for Pasta or whatever… what this player needs to be is the center piece of the other line. Bruins had Bergeron and Krejci, Tampa had Kucherov and Stamkos, Pens had Crosby and Malkin, Florida Barkov and Tkachuk. They all didn’t play together at 5 on 5, You can go on. Bruins need this guy to be a center piece for line 2. I think that means a driver. I don’t know if Martone is that.
Screams Frondell or Hagens realistically in my opinion. Misa too obviously but I'm not counting on the lottery balls as much as I like and want the player.

Higher than he ranked Makar.

That’s not really fair to Pronman. Everyone’s lists are bad five years out. The consensus lists are bad five years out. Certainly better than they used to be, but when you are drafting children you aren’t always going to project right.

I predict he won’t be available at 4, which is too bad because he would be dynamite with Pasta

If the bruins stay at 4 my gut says they pick Hagens

Btw - I agree with Dan’s theory of building a strong second line, but when the bruins were at their best they really didn’t have a second or first line they had 1a 1b which is what I think works best, you go with the model of one elite player on each line. Pasta drives his line, Lindholm is good not great. Geekie has a set of skills that gels well with pasta. When you have a guy like pasta, he can make a weekend at the in laws look good

So if you’ve got Misa/Frondell/Hagens you can build your other strong line and any of those guys can still play with pasta on the power play

During and after this draft I want Sweeney to start looking for found money on wing

I'm just hoping Martone slips I think he can drive a line too.

Tell that to Bruce Cassidy in 2019

I tried. I really really tried. I wrote letters. Called my senator. Sent carrier pigeons. Nothing worked. I desperately wanted to see pasta on line with Krejci instead of Karson f***ing Kuhlman.

Shoulda been Marchand - Bergeron - Backes (Marchand and Bergeron could play by themselves, and I mean literally, no defensemen, and they’d break even) and backes needed to be in that final game.

And DeBrusk - Krejci - Pasta

Game 6 win gave them false confidence. And I’ve never seen a team come out with so much gusto only to give up some shitty goals and then become completely hollow for the next 40 minutes.

Ah, see what you did, you made me go to the bad place.

The kuhlman move costed us I agree now here we are bottom of the east

Ideally driver and center but they need a stud there who can generate offense

Central Scouting dropped Martone out of the top 5 in their final rankings.

And they are not the be all and end all and certainly don't represent what every NHL team would do.

I do think it is likely that most if not all teams have Shaefer #1. I think it is likely that most if not all teams have Misa #1 (possibly less than Schaefer at #1). The next 4-7 players are likely viewed fairly close by many teams, and nothing would surprise me in the 3-9 spots in the draft.

Hell no, not even close. Just look at the last decade of the bruins drafting.

Marchand - Bergeron - Heinen
DeBrusk - Krejci - Pastrnak
Johanson - Coyle - Backes
Nordstrom - Kuraly - Acciari

A 1c and elite winger pair split over two lines, one gets Petraingelo - Parayko and the other gets the O'Reilly line, instead of both going at the first line.

A f***ing 2 year old could have figured that out Butch. I'm glad you landed on your feet with a team more talented than the one you could have won with in Boston with one simple lineup tweak.

Also, I was there, the building was nervous, the players were nervous. One team played like they wanted to win, the other played like they didn't want to lose. Its easy to guess which one lost.

STL also had a still effective Jaybo on their team. They were absolutely better than haters here are willing to accept.

The next year (Covid) they had the 2nd best RS record behind Boston. O'Relly\Schenn
gave them a quality 1\2 C punch and AP, Parayko and Jaybo were a big mobile shutdown triumvirate and we now know for certain the ahole in net was more than capable of winning 4 games in a series behind a D that placed all 3 guys on a Team Canada BOB between 4Nations and the 2014 Olympics.

Swap DeBrusk and Heinen :)
