If we used your judgement, we'd have two players on the team.Lohrei going? Do you promise?

Come on...............
Every team in the League -- bar none -- would have given a king's ransom for that so called 1.5C Bergeron.
By definition every year there are 30 or so "#1 Centers" so I get it that there is a wide range in quality/strength.
However, using your bar, apparently there were only two or three true #1 Centers in the League while Bergie played.
i don't think this can be emphasized enough. Odds are all these guys are a couple years away. Which is why taking a guy based on current positions of need is kind of silly, just take the guy you think will be the best player.I think people need to pump the breaks on these players making a significant impact next year. Makar played 2 years after he was drafted at UMass and didn't truly breakout until his 2nd NHL season. Then you look at Bedard and Celebrini, both rated higher than any F in this draft and both got injured their rookie year. As great as Lane Hutson is he played a full year at BU as did Will Smith at BC. Ryan Leonard did 2 at BC.
O' it'll happen as sure as the sun rises in the east, but this is a draft where Sweeney can't miss. Imo basically just off from highlights and reading articles its Schaefer and then Misa and then a group of Hagens, Frondell, Desnoyers, Eklund, McQueen, Martone, in no particular order. A lot of love for O'brien out there, as well. If he goes off from those guys with a top 8 pick bring out the torches!I'm most looking forward to all the posts we'll have in here blasting Sweeney because he didn't pick the particular player they wanted. It will be fun.
His skating scares me a bit. I’d really like them to get faster and skating is not his strength.Martone is anything but a "Brady Tkachuk" kind of player. He's big though.

Should be fun leading upto May 5th or 6th and then June 27th/28th
What do you think we have for all intents and purposes now?If we used your judgement, we'd have two players on the team.
I get McQueen with the Back injury, but curious on why Hagens ?Of the 9 players you mentioned only Hagens and McQueen give me real pause.
I can't answer for our fellow poster, but I would like my crack at a #1C to come with a body that's a little bigger than 5' 11".I get McQueen with the Back injury, but curious on why Hagens ?
KopitarHonestly during a lot of Bergeron career there were IMO 6 other centers that people would put as absolute #1C that will enter the HOF.
Crosby, Malkin, Thornton, Toews, Datysuk and Getzlaf. You can add the older Staal and Zetterberg as true #1C also.
So that puts Bergeron amongst 9 really terrific Centers, which is close to 1\3 of the NHL having #1C, not 3-5 like DaBroons thinks.
So Pittsburgh and maybe even Detroit may not have traded for Bergeron
when they faced each other in the Cup Finals, even if Bergeron wasn't concussed.
Which of the following also give you pause because of their size, keeping in mind that Hagens doesn't turn 19 until November? Hagens is 5'11 180.I can't answer for our fellow poster, but I would like my crack at a #1C to come with a body that's a little bigger than 5' 11".

Need I remind you of the long list of meh the Bruins have drafted in an effort to get their coveted “big center”.I can't answer for our fellow poster, but I would like my crack at a #1C to come with a body that's a little bigger than 5' 11".

With the exception of Brayden Point, I don't think any of those guys have made it very far in the playoffs.Which of the following also give you pause because of their size, keeping in mind that Hagens doesn't turn 19 until November? Hagens is 5'11 180.
Tim Stutzle - 6'0 190
Nick Suzuki - 5'11 207
Connor Bedard - 5'10 185
Sebastian Aho - 6'0 180
Jack Hughes - 5'11 175
Brayden Point - 5'11 175
Oh ok. Two more inches and they would have been in the conference finals I guess. With the exception of Brayden Point, I don't think any of those guys have made it very far in the playoffs.
Skating concerns make me want to steer clear of Martone. Would prefer Frondell. Eklund is interesting to me. In the clips I’ve seen he has a crazy motor and drives pace of play.I could see this, Neely influence big time here thou, but Martone maybe as close to anyone to NHL ready and he's that Prototypical bruin type of player.
I get McQueen with the Back injury, but curious on why Hagens ?
People are really setting themselves up for disappointmentMartone is anything but a "Brady Tkachuk" kind of player. He's big though.
Yeah Eklund reminds me of a young Marchand minus the chirping. Definitely has a high compete and motor level for sure.Skating concerns make me want to steer clear of Martone. Would prefer Frondell. Eklund is interesting to me. In the clips I’ve seen he has a crazy motor and drives pace of play.
