Wouldn't mind him in the 2nd if we're taking a shot at his upside. Don't want him in the 1st

FWIW RLR has Grans at 77

Black Book has him at 65...rates him pretty highly in everything but Hockey Sense which he gets a 4 (below average) and points to his lack of defensive awareness. so those 2 aren't fans...

I would also agree that his defensive/offensive awareness is quite inaccurate. He needs a little time to look up the ice or around the o-zone before making a pass. I do think he's raw enough to get over the humps there, though. I would love to see how he progresses over time because he could turn out to be an incredibly reliable defender in the future.

2020 BOLD PREDICTIONS

There are a lot of ways draft day could go. Specific needs and smokescreen tactics will be plentiful beforehand, but this draft (just like any year) will be exciting!! With that said, I expect this first-ever (and hopefully last) virtual draft to be insanely hectic. Here are some bold predictions that I think could happen leading up to and on draft day...

Without further ado...

Trade/Signing Rumors
1. Tuukka Rask WILL be moved to a team out west.
2. Patrik Laine WILL NOT be moved this year.
3. Oliver Ekman-Larsson WILL go to a different team out west.
4. Tampa Bay WILL unload Tyler Johnson AND Ondrej Palat in separate trades.
5. Pietrangelo WILL sign with the Panthers.
6. Johnny Gaudreau WILL NOT be traded from Calgary.
7. Vegas WILL trade Jonathan Marchesseault and WILL NOT trade Fleury.
8. Turris WILL be boughtout in the coming days by Nashville.
9. The Rangers will sign a freshly boughtout Alexander Wennberg from Columbus and quickly fix their center depth. WILL NOT QUALIFY STROME.
10. The King WILL sign with Colorado and try for a cup with them.

Draft
1. Anton Lundell goes in the top 5.
2. Yaroslav Askarov goes in the top 10.
3. Kaiden Guhle goes in the top 15.
4. J.J. Peterka goes in the top 20.
5. The biggest risers in the 1st round will be Lukas Reichel and William Wallinder.
6. The biggest fallers in the 1st round will be Lucas Raymond and Connor Zary.
7. More defenders will go in the 1st round than we originally anticipated.
8. Marco Rossi WILL NOT drop out of the top 10, but Alexander Holtz WILL.
9. Tyler Kleven, Helge Grans, Topi Niemela and Ozzy Wiesblatt will be 1st round picks on Tuesday.
10. Brendan Brisson, Mavrik Bourque, Justin Barron and Marat Khusnutdinov will fall out of the 1st round.

Dylan Holloway

Feel free to ask any questions!! Sorry it's a little late, but wanted to definitely send this out before Monday.

I don't think Holloway's going to make it to 22. Raymond doesn't fall. He gets grabbed by Ottawa at 5. The Senators will look at Stutzle and Raymond as 2/3rds of a future 1st line in one draft. Barron all year long has been a 2nd rounder and Brisson is going to join him. I think Khusnutdinov sneaks into the first round late.

I would be fine if the Rangers took Holloway at 22 though. I am wondering what the f*** is going on with Strome though--I think the idea is to trade him.

Not exactly a bold prediction, but I could see more defenseman jump up than expected. I think that there is a very good chance that there will be a couple of forwards on the board at 22 that we are very surprised by. Maybe a Mercer or Holloway type.

Bold Prediction: Rangers trade #22 in a package for player(s). Then they later flip Strome for a 2nd.

It feels like anything Strome-related is lined up to happen by the QO deadline at 5pm Eastern on Tuesday.

Lots of variables here for me, but if this happens and it results in obtaining a cost controlled two way C and we get Reichel in round 2, happy day for me.

.
. I think the Rangers are keeping the pick. They may move up though

Very interesting on the Wennberg peice. Especially on Strome.

Florian Elias, played for Jungadler in the DNL. Had a great season at u20 level as a 17-year old. Didn't get a crack at the men's level yet but I expect him to get drafted as well

There's another kid in Germany that I heard is a pretty good athlete that can skate. Really good to see the sport gain traction in Germany. I really wish they hung on for the lead and won gold in 2018. Could have been their miracle on ice.

Russia is our nemesis internationally. At some point we'll get them.

That 2018 Olympic was the loudest I've interacted with a TV set.
