Jordan Eberle + 2018 2nd + Brandon Davidson for Dougie Hamilton.

Eberle fills the void on the first line RW for the Flames.

Eberle: 27 GP, 7G, 13A, 20 pts (but shooting at 9.4%, below his 13.4% career average)

Hamilton is the offensive defenceman the Oilers need. Will definitely help the PP.

Hamilton: 28 GP, 3G, 10A, 13 pts

--

I know it's a trade between two division rivals, but it adresses the needs of both teams.

EDIT: Added Davidson

Doubt that Treliving trades Hamilton within the division unless it's massive overpay. And Eberle for Hamilton isn't massive overpay and besides if Calgary moves Hamilton i'm pretty sure they will need another D man coming back in return.

Dont believe the Oilers have a second to offer. Bruins own Oilers original second. The second might get from Blues is conditional. I dont know if conditions have/will be met.

And creates even bigger hole on defence. Absolutely no thank you.

You think Hamilton > Larsson?

I do. It's a good discussion though. Hamilton has better possession and scoring numbers while Larsson is miles ahead on shot suppression. I love both players

That said, Eberle definitely doesn't get you Hamilton, even with a 2nd. And I'm a rare Flames fan that likes Eberle

You like Eberle? You should see what Oilers fans say about him...

Lol sure. Take Eberle. I would have offered a lot more.
The days of 34 goal sniper Eberle are long gone. Drake Cagguila looks more dangerous. Somewhere along the line Eberles shot was lost, might have to send a search party out to find it

larsson is not 'miles ahead' on shot suppression. adjusting for zone starts and score effects, larsson has a 56.90 CA60 to hamilton's 57.14. hamilton also provides a 65.67 CF60 to larsson's 61.18. relative to their teams, larsson looks even worse, with a -0.88 CF% to hamilton's 5.13.

on top of hamilton's much better underlying numbers, he also possesses a better pass, shot, transition game, and offensive instincts.

it's ludicrous to think that larsson is better at this juncture.

I didn't even think that was controversial anymore.

Isn't he like last place on the oilers for advanced stats, Goal against, GF%. Pretty much any way you could think of evaluating a stay at home defenseman.

Larsson is the best D on a team tied for first in Pacific and 3rd in the West while playing #1 minutes. He is one of biggest reason Oilers are so good.

hes 52% possession player (which is what Hamilton is as well in way easier minutes)

This argument was made in those Hamilton threads last week: why does he play only 4th most minutes then?

In your dreams

Even in their wildest dreams Calgary doesn't do this deal. The only player I value in Edmonton is McDavid, his value is so much higher than anyone in the league that you can't even suggest a trade especially between two rivals.

There are no two combinations of players, single player, three players that I'd move from Calgary to Edmonton for Dougie (this excludes McDavid, as I mentioned before).
