2015 offseason:
Trades Soderberg and Hamilton for 4 picks who have played a total of under 100 games and have scored a total of 18 points.

2015 1st round:
Picks Zboril, Debrusk, and Senyshyn over Barzal/Connor/Chabot/Boeser/Konecny/Roslovic/Aho

2015 Draft:
Trades pick #135 (KIRILL KAPRIZOV) for a 2016 5th rounder

Trades:
Trades a 2nd and a 4th for 19 games of Lee Stempniak

Trades a 3rd and a 5th for third-pairing defenseman John-Michael Liles

Trades Frank Vatrano for a 3rd rounder. Vatrano goes on to average close to .5 ppg so far with Florida

Trades Ryan Lindgren, Ryan Spooner (flipped into Ryan Strome), 1st round pick (K'Andre Miller) and 7th rounder for 23 games of Rick Nash

Has any other GM screwed his team so badly in such a short time span? The Bruins would've surely won at least a Cup or two since 2015 if someone competent ran the team.

If your just going to cherry pick all the bad stuff at least mention the Backes contract, the Belesky contract, and the Rinaldo trade.

His 2015 1st round selections by themselves should have him banned from ever managing a hockey team again.
yeah i think that botched 1st round could end up being his legacy if the bruins don't win a cup under him. not sure how much control he had of the team at that point

Fun fact, for the first time ever, tonight all three 2015 firsts are in the NHL lineup together. And if they weren't hurt, Carlo and Lauzon, 2 of the 3 second round picks that year, would also be playing.

Yeah, he whiffed hard missing some obvious guys, but Carlo, Zboril, and Lauzon are all legit. DeBrusk looked great until this season. And the B's have continued to be successful through the years, so I'm over it.

The Nash trade was made worse by Nash's injury. If he stays healthy, that's probably a great trade as the B's probably make it much deeper into the playoffs.

2015, he whiffed hard in the first but Carlo and Lauzon in the 2nd was a home run. DeBrusk and Zboril are good players, too. Obviously better players went immediately after, but it's not like he came out empty handed.

Citing a swapping of 5th round picks when 5th rounders have like a 0.05% of being impact NHL players? Lol

I like your effort here. Solid troll attmept.

Bringing up Soderberg is great though. He was about to be a UFA and he got a pick for his rights.

Bruins fan here and I agree, the only thing he's good at is resigning his own players to good deals.. Also for the people saying he made good 2nd round picks, kudos should go to the scouts who scouted them and sold them, not Sweeney.

Hard to know if that was him or bad scouting... I feel like Scouts having their entire job be the draft, I'd say its more on them.

Sweeney sucks at drafting forwards, But that man can draft defenseman.

He's hit and miss on his trades, his last trade was Nick Ritchie for Danton Heinen and that seems to be a win though.

He's got some questionable UFA signings for sure.

But he is the best GM in the entire league at resigning his own players.

IIRC Sweeney had been the GM for like a month at 2015 draft, so that would've been Chiarelli, who's drafting record outside of Pastrnak makes Sweeney look amazing at it.

But that was his department before being promoted
