Domi suspension incoming? (Fined $5,000)

I said in game thread he gets multiple games

A toronto poster said no because precedent was sent.

But thus was done after the game was decided in the final minute. They don't suspend this you will see head hunting against star players after the game is decided
Florida has been head hunting every game. Literally every game has had a Florida player headshot a leafs player without any repercussion.

You'd think a few of those Canadian players would like to come home and play for their boyhood teams and in front of family and friends and possibly end the 30+ year drought, wouldn't you?

American players playing for Canadian teams usually go back after they retire. European players usually return home.
Most Blue Jays players go back to the US in the off season as do Raptor players.

Maybe Trump's right.

I'm Canadian by the way. I can guarantee you if someone in the Canadian media had the balls to ask the Canadian players on the Panthers or Stars about the USA chants, they'd say it's okay.

If you are in a nhl player income bracket, you get to keep more of it by staying there as opposed to settling back in Canada.

Some guys do settle back in Canada but they are choosing to pay more as a high earner.

Panthers do a lot of bitch moves and nothing happens. So why is it an issue when it happens against your team now? Seriously though. How many concussions has Bennett been responsible for the last 3 years? These playoffs your team has taken Carneys Elbows Up slogan to heart because they've been leading with their elbows up for 2 series now.

Just this game you had Bennett push OEL on our goalie again.
Mikkola open the bench door as Nylander was getting hit near it and then act like he was making a line change when nobody was around to change with on the defence.
Kulikov elbow to Marners head.

That's just this game but that Domi hit is so bad.
Those wholesome angels on the Maple Leafs would never partake in such disgusting behavior

Yeah, but they both chose to play in the USA because well...you know.
Your argument literally proves nothing. They are both Canadians who have represented Canada internationally. USA chant as some sort of superiority in hockey means nothing if the players were raised and developed in Canada. Now, if you want to chant, "Florida! Florida!"... go for it. That at least makes sense. Oh well.

This is hardly surprising after what has happened in this series. The NHL decided that these incidents are OK when a goalie takes a headshot and it is fine.

Set a precedent and this is what happens. Unless the officials get a grip on games, something is going to happen in a playoff series soon which will be career-ending for a player.

Ain't no fun when the rabbit got the gun.

Games need to be called tighter before someone gets hurt, but the Panthers are the epitome of dirty play so it's a little funny seeing their fans now calling for punishment.

Well it was less dirty and much less forceful than this play which the league determined is fine

So it’ll be hard for them to turn around and say it’s not fine now. It wasn’t even overly aggressive of a hit, much less than Tkachuk’s

Feel like he forced the NHL hand a bit here at the end of the game.

During the game, 2 min penalty.

End of the game, NHL going to feel like he needs to be punished or else it's going to be free reign for players at the end of the game

They didn’t feel like that when M. Tkachuk did it at the end of the game.

there was 5 minutes left in the tbl game.

What is the threshold for amount of time that needs to be left in a game for a suspendable play to not result in a suspension?

Seems like a weird argument to make that because there was 5 mins left in a 5-1 game that it didn’t deserve a suspension. There was time left in the game when Domi hit Barkov too.

well when a you're able to serve the entirety of the major that definitely changes the discusison.
If you go and look at the game sheet Domi was assessed the penalty at 20minutes of the 3rd period, is there some time after the 20 minute mark that im not aware of?

You realize the only reason it was assessed at 20 mins is because the refs wanted the game to end?

If not being able to serve a penalty is the threshold for a suspension then there would be a lot more suspensions coming. Ekblad and Marchand to start should be included for taking misconducts after the game was over.

Ekblad charged Domi in retaliation for the play. The fact he’s coming off back to back suspensions gives him a history too.

there was 6 seconds left in the game when domi made the hit don't kid yourself.
do you think that if the play was whistled dead immediately, is 6 seconds of penalty would have been an adequate punishment?
if that had instead been bennett doing that to matthews with 6 seconds left people would be rightfully livid and calling for a suspension.

funny how you only mention ekblad and marchand but fail to say anything about mcmann

edit* rewatched it sorry it was 7.5 seconds, my mistake.
