Does someone have advice or experience for dying pets (cat)?

I have a dilemma because I have been hearing personally, and in an article on the web, that it is best to euthanize an actively dying cat. I am inclined to let nature take its course and have our home be a hospice for her as she dies, but it's hard to know what the right decision is. Juno had, I think, a severe stroke yesterday and can no longer stand today. But she looks alert, and with my support I can feed her, give her water, clean her, and up after her. She is very limp and pulls herself around a little bit if she wants to. She looks alert and like she wants to survive. It's hard to know if she is truly suffering or to what extent, but I can read her pretty well. I think she want to keep on living, as we pretty much all do. I don't think she's going to survive this, but am wondering what is best for her.

funny I stumble across this thread. We lost our beloved Coco three years ago today. Although a different situation @Hippasus, best case scenario is to spend as much time that you can.

What a clusterf*** our situation was. Our cat was going on six months without eating much, low energy, and always felt super warm. Stool was weak looking (barely went in the litter box) and she kept throwing up once a day.

We lost our vet during COVID and had no other office that was willing to take our cat. My wife (along with our newborn child), drove here, there and everywhere for even a sick checkup new patient.

Eventually , my aunts new boyfriend knew a family vet that took her in on a weekend and ran some tests. Turns out it was too little too late. She had stage four kidney (or liver?) failure that they couldn’t do much of. She ended up passing away the day he was going to give her back to us.

Ive had many pets.

1 had a "stroke", technically vestibular syndrome .. took her a few months to get recovered to her normal albeit old self. She passed away peacefully a few years later due to old age.

Juno .... if shes alert, not shaking in pain and is eating (even assisted) at least a little every few days = I would 100% support her recovery and see what happens.

My dog Alley bounced back .. took a while and never got her balance back, lost some pep in her step but we had cuddles and good living for a few more years

Juno passed away today. She actually rebounded off and on and was able to walk again. But she pretty much stopped eating a couple days ago. She was a very adventuresome, courageous, and vocal cat when she was younger. I think she died after going to the litter. A brave little trooper to the end. We're going to miss her. Thank you for the responses.

Sorry, man. This is heartbreaking to read so I can't imagine how you're feeling.
