We are seeing it so often right now in the NHL for teams not meeting expectations. Peter Laviolette got fired by Washington for not making the playoffs , Gerard Gallant got fired less than 1 year after the Rangers made it all the way to the Eastern Conference finals , even in management you are a guy like Kyle Dubas who is the only GM in the last 19 years to give the Maple Leafs there one and only playoff win but still got fired , and the Penguins fired everybody from Brian Burke , to Ron Hextall etc for missing the Playoffs
For the first time in 16 years .

Now I know these are all separate situations . But let’s face the facts here . My point up there proves that no job in the NHL is safe , successful career or not no job is clearly safe in hockey, Even Barry Trotz got fired last year anyway .

The Canes just got swept by the Panthers , Something me , and so many people did not see coming I am speechless . We know Thomas Dundon is a very hands on owner and really wants to win now and is willing to make the big move when necessary.

Does he step in here and fire RBA after what we just witnessed ,

My money says Brind Amour will be back as head coach next year , but I wanted to see what you fans think of a change that could be coming ?

Seriously though,

This Team had significant injuries, still made the final four and came up against a historic goalie performance.

Rod is far from the problem, imho. But the Power Play needs a new strategic mind.

No. But Waddell should be. Not signing anyone proved to be a pretty big deal in the ECF.
Outside fan agree here. Carolina window is now, and your 2 best goal scoring wingers in svexh and patches are out for the rest of season, and waddell answer is puljujarvi? You guys had a ton of cap space and this was gross negligence on waddell’s part. Could have gotten tarasenko before NYR, 1 or 2 top 6 winger rentals and this series at the very least is tied. brindamour did as much as you could with this roster, this is on managements.

How did getting Tarasenko work out for NYR? Or Bertuzzi for Boston? Or Meier for NJD? Or O’Reilly for Toronto?

The front office’s theory and approach is that you’re mortgaging the future to increase your Cup odds from like 8% to 9%. They’ll never be heavily into the true rental game. They were in on Meier and Tkachuk, guys that would be longer term fits.

Waddell’s answer was Meier, but Meier opted to go to the Devils. So be it. By the time that decision was made, there wasn’t many options remaining. So they evaluated the roster and decided not to make a big deadline push this year. And considering they made it further than teams that did…
