He has changed the team defence. Everyone now plays better with him taking assignments. Barry Trotz is a terrible GM. I bet Colton Sissons is the next Pred to get traded for nothing and end up being great for the team he goes to.
Barron was -3 last night and Preds Ds got potted 7 goals. He missed a pinch that led to a goal. Glad it’s not happening here.

Anderson and Gallagher continue to play very well for us, I'm not even sure I would consider Anderson a cap dump anymore, he's our most physical forward and he look pretty good on the PK.
At a lower cap hit (3rd liner $), you’d have many teams knocking. He’s a little overpayed right now but I’d definitely consider resigning him at a lower AAV.

Sometimes great players don't make great coaches. And apparently sometimes great coaches don't make great GM's.

Important to try to make as many trades with GM's like this before they're out of the job! Nice work by Hughes making good deals with Holland, Hextall, Trevling, and now Trotz.

Dobes said after the game he felt like he was playing at home. And he said when he heard the ole ole ole with 5 minutes left he thought wtf is going on.

Great team win, seeing Laine blocking shots to preserve the shutout .. wow .. but in general everyone. Amazing team win. Carrier has really made a different to our defense and Dach finally looked dominant and not only because he scored.

Didn't stop Habs fans, especially after that 1st shutout

Habs fans. Yeah we suck right?

There isn't room for him here long term/next year:

Caufield - Suzuki - Slaf
Laine - Dach - Demidov
Newhook - Evans/Beck - Heineman
Gally - Kapanen/Beck - Anderson
Roy

Naahhh...

Slafkovsky - Suzuki - Caufield
Demidov - Dach - Laine
Anderson - Newhook - Gallagher
Heineman - Beck - Kapanen

He played a long shift before that fight while Greer was fresh. He was a POS to do that, but Xhekaj started to do well after a breather & Greer basically turtled. Xhekaj is one tough mother & is playing extremely well.

We need to replace Matheson & Savard on RD. Hopefully Reinbacher is able to take one of those spots. Still need a veteran RD.

Carrier was an absolutely f***ing steal. I can't believe we got him for Barron.
Carrier (or somebody like him) was badly needed. We had already turned the corner but he and Laine really made a difference.

Xhekaj plays 16 hard minutes and fights a guy who played 7 minutes. X is more valuable playing tough hockey and not fighting 4th line useless slugs.
The fact you and others can't get it through your brains that a large part of his value derives from the fighting aspect is astounding. Same idea that had people craping on him to start the season.

Only saw a few minutes of the game but congrats to Dobes. He looks huge in net and so calm (somewhat Price like).
This team is gonna be so fun to watch next year with Demidov, it's gonna be crazy.
Except for the part where Dobes cranks up the rage meter from 0 to 100 within seconds, if an opponent gets in the blue paint and rattles him. Xhekaj knows this and immediately intervened with Greer.

I'm not gonna hype myself too much but that's the type of win that can give a good boost to a team. This is gonna take some pressure off Dach-Newhook and a shutout like that is gonna restore some confidence to the D squad. And of course Dobes who was flawless in his first NHL appearance. And this wasn't against a bottom feeder but vs one of the top NHL team and the defending cup champions.

Hopefully this carries against Tampa tomorrow.
