Would be huge if the 2nd line actually starts playing consistently well. Every other part of the team seems to be hitting its stride right now. Are they about to go on a tear?

It's going to be very fun to watch the next 6 games of them playing elite teams right as they seem to be heating up.

He was part of the problem . He seems to finally have understood. But the arriva of Laine and carrier in the line up is helping a lot too.

I can't and wont agree to this. Ofcourse having players that puts everyone in their right chairs and stabalizes the D helps, that's the point, noone was going to do better than Marty did no matter who was behind the bench.

They've been steadily getting better since after the 1st week of November.

Couldn't watch the game as I'm playing dnd with buddies, how was Dobes overall? What about Dach? Actually who was good, who was bad, etc.?

:sarcasm:

Dach's starting to look like old Dach.
Newhook picked up 2a.
Evans scored another shortie.
Dobes was solid & confident, but team played great in front of him. Everyone played solid.

Zero complaints..

This team is really showing it has the potential to take the next step. It’s really helped that Laine been added to the lineup plus switching out Barron and Primeau for Carrier and Dobes.

The Guhle-Carrier pairing has been solid and really gives Montreal more stability in their own end.

Hopefully Dach and Newhook can continue their strong play. Getting that 2nd line going will be key in Montreal’s success going forward.

Need to add Hutson taking over the #1 QB shortly before Laine and continually teeing him up.

Only saw a few minutes of the game but congrats to Dobes. He looks huge in net and so calm (somewhat Price like).
This team is gonna be so fun to watch next year with Demidov, it's gonna be crazy.

Dobes is the opposite of Price as he is chaotic and moves a ton. He is much more like Tim Thomas style wise, hopefully with a more intelligent world view.....He has a bit of Roy's showmanship and fire as he runs hot and will protect his crease with great prejudice. I am not saying that he is going to have a HOF career but his demeanor is nothing at all like Price and is much closer to the other two greats that I mentioned.

Hey man, props for this! My favorite 80's hair band!

Armia is +9 in his last 5 games, it's crazy.
He's good in his right role: 4th line, and PK. He's just overpaid.

Hope his abilities in the right role go noticed at the TDL.

There isn't room for him here long term/next year:

Caufield - Suzuki - Slaf
Laine - Dach - Demidov
Newhook - Evans/Beck - Heineman
Gally - Kapanen/Beck - Anderson
Roy

As mentioned, I only saw a few minutes. But where I thought he looked calm like Price was when the Habs had the puck in their own end and Dobes would just stand up almost nonchalantly even in the last minute. That is what struck me.

Carrier was an absolutely f***ing steal. I can't believe we got him for Barron.

He has changed the team defence. Everyone now plays better with him taking assignments. Barry Trotz is a terrible GM. I bet Colton Sissons is the next Pred to get traded for nothing and end up being great for the team he goes to.
