Damn, not a Ranger fan, but this is one hell of an intriguing question.

I lean no. The fact is that they're on a tear since the change.

If you make that change during the intermission, and they end up losing, that sounds like a potential confidence rattler for Shesterkin regardless of reason.

Obviously he's back in next game regardless.

you don't put him back in at that point but he never should have been pulled. 3 bad bounces and the game wasn't out of hand. I will die on this hill
I was surprised too. But G did fine. And the team responded. We’ll never know what would have happened had they left Igor in, but I like that GG is willing to shake things up.

I don't put him back in the 3rd.

But I never would have yanked him in the first place. Not after the season he's had, and not facing Louis Domingue in the other end. Plus isn't it about building experience? Give Shesterkin a chance to battle through it imo. You want him to get that experience not just for this series but for the future. I wouldn't have pulled him with the game still in reach.

He doesn't give up that 5th goal either I think.

Heart says yes but my head says no.

1st was a mess for him, win or lose this game you aren't winning the series if Igor is a shell of himself. Putting him back in for the third and he has a continuation of the 1st and that's a lot for a person. Better to let him reset and come into game 4 refreshed and ready.

I do think that there was a better shot of him shutting it down in the third completely than pulling the garbage Georgiev pulled. So maybe they should have put him back in. It's just not something really done.
