While I agree it won't be easy it's not far-fetched as we have a "relatively" easy schedule the rest of the way. Where do you think we'll finish in the division?

We still have a ton of division games and those are still our weakest point. They're in striking distance though. I predict 3rd though.

The Kings having more Stanley Cups than division titles in their history is great trivia.
How many teams in major professional sports is this true of?

I'd genuinely be curious to know. Are the Kings the only one?

Yes....but that shouldn't be the goal of this run.

The difference being that they've only been around since 1993.

That's true, but that's when modern divisions began in MLB. Prior to that they just had 2 divisions per league, and before 1969 they had no divisions. So technically the Yankees have 27 world series championships, but only 19 division titles.

The Marlins have been in a division with only 5 teams for 28 seasons (and 1 season with 6 teams) with no division title but 2 Championships

The Kings divisions had in order:
3 seasons of 6 teams
2 seasons of 7 teams
2 season of 8 teams
17 seasons of 5 teams
4 seasons of 6 teams
3 seasons of 7 teams
14 seasons of 5 teams
4 seasons of 7 teams
4 seasons of 8 teams

So a total of 31 seasons at 5 teams, 7 seasons at 6 teams, 9 seasons at 7 teams, 6 seasons at 8 teams with 1 division title but 2 cups.

But when you also consider playoff format, in the NHL 10 non-division winners make the playoffs every year (that number has changed since 1967 ) and the MLB from 1993-2011 only had 2 non division winning teams in the post season, 4 after that. All that into consideration, I'd argue it makes the Marlins more......interesting? Bizarre? Unique? Whatever you want to call it.

That was always the problem with Rob Blake as a player. He was more about winning the Smythe Division (once) than he was about winning the Stanley Cup. ;-)

I got 50-1 odds in Vegas of them winning the Pacific- Im pleased my $10 bet is still in the hunt. Note some odds now have Kings as 50-1 to win the cup. On that same note- I always find it so amusing the Kings have more Stanley Cups than division titles.
this has pissed me off year after year
