Do the kids see one dime of the money raised for the tournament?

I do believe the IIHF and the youth hockey program of the nation hosting the tourney (in this case, Hockey Canada) are the ones who get the loot.

It may not go to the kids directly, but for a lot of nations, that boost in funds to their hockey program goes for things like better training, coaching, more ice facilities, etc. Still a benefit to the kids (and the ones following in their footsteps).

By the way, when the World Juniors is held here, Hockey Canada pays for all of the other teams' travel.

Lol @ blaming TSN.

TSN bought the rights to the WJC and marketed it to become the spectacle that it is today.

That's their job, to hype up their broadcasts.

If anything the kids should be thanking TSN for giving them more exposure.

Someone like Max Domi probably gained over 10k Twitter followers since the start of the tournament.

I'm guessing not. Kinda seems like BS with how much tsn hypes it and all.

Instead of guessing and innuendo, why don't you download Hockey Canada's annual report? You'll see how they make their money and how they spend it, rightly or wrongly.

.....and kids who do well in this tournament can either raise their draft stock, or get a bigger contract from the team that drafted them. This is definitely a very high profile tourney for the kids, and they benefit tremendously from it.
