Do players get commissions for jerseys sold ?

Directly? No.

Indirectly, yes.

"Player name and likeness" usage requires "royalty" payment to union. (This includes photographs, bobbleheads, dolls, shirts/jerseys and other clothing items.)

(In addition, manufacturers have to pay a royalty to NHL Enterprises for use of trademarked logos.)

How the union divides those monies, I don't know.

Do teams keep a higher profit for jerseys sold in their arenas compared to jerseys sold on nhl.com or other retailers?
**all officially licensed merchandise

Yes. At team owned stores they get to pocket the whole retail markup. For jerseys sold at NHL.Com (or other retailers) they just get 1/30 of the licensing fees paid to the League by the manufacturers/distributors.

I assume it is 'hockey related revenue' so selling a lot of jerseys would have a positive impact on the salary cap. Presumably players that sell a lot of jerseys would also be the ones to most benefit. So, indirectly.

Individually ??
I was under the impression years ago, that revenues went to
a general fund, paying retirement funds, etc???

Maybe that was baseball?

Haven't some players in MLB opted out of the PA licensing arm (jerseys, video game likeness etc)? I'm thinking Barry Bonds for some reason.
