Do Easton skates size the same as Bauer Skates

1. do not buy skates without trying them on.
2. if you have the money, buy grafs. by far the most comfortable skate you will ever try. (I waited until my feet stopped growing because they are that expensive)

I was just skate hunting this weekend and from what I was told by the sales guy (who's worked on skates for NHLers), Bauers and Easton's are very much different.
It all depends on the model, but Easton's are better for wider feet and higher arches. If you don't have any of that, then Bauers would probably fit well too.
And if you have the money to spend $400-500, then you should be buying Graf's. They're easily the best skates on the market and have several different models to fit any shape of foot.
Yes, they are expensive, but I know guys who've had pairs for over 10 years. The boot is very durable. Would you spend $40-$50 a season for 10 years to have the most comfortable, lightweight, and highest performance skate available? Most would.

thats a lie i wear Bauer vapor 30s and i have flat feet and they work fine.

You're going to screw yourself over buying them online. Easton skates are a much different width than Bauers. Even more variation between Supreme, Synergy, Stealth and Vapor.

Many skates size up the same, but not all. For instance, Mission skates will size down 1.5 (I think) sizes from Easton or Bauer
I haven't purchased a new pair of skates in quite some time (my Easton boots with Tuuk customs have lasted quite a while), but I believe the general rule is that American producers (Mission) always size down 1.5 sizes from Canadian producers. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
at the medium level they're different....I tried both eastons and bauers when getting my skates a coupla years ago, and eastons were my size whereas bauers were too small. I have wider feet so that could have been part of it.
But I didn't get eastons at that time because of the blade screws. Got grafs and haven't looked back.

Are Grafs really that great? My second pair of Vapor XXXs are disintegrating fast and I definitely need a new pair of skates.
I know some people swear by their Grafs. I've never tried them on, even, because they are WAAAYYY too expensive for me ($500-600 US), and you have to take the blade holders off and replace them with TUUKs or you will be skating on your toes (Graf blade holders are much higher in the back than other brands). But others swear Nike skates are the greatest ever, and I tried them. They are OK, but I've had better skates.
The thing is, many skates feel good in the store. But on the ice is another story. The brand and type of skate you pick depends on your foot shape; for example Vapors are light, and fit tight in the toes. Supremes are a little more open in the toe cap, and the Nike skates have a lot of room in the toes. So if you like to have some room up there (like me), there you go. And skates today are now 1.5 to 2 sizes smaller than your shoe size, as opposed to the old rule of down one size for hockey skates.
Good luck, I know I've been struggling for 2 years to find the "perfect" skate. If only Daoust was still around.....sigh!
