So with the playoffs looming and the Kings pretty much guaranteed to be in it with how bad the division is…

I think it’d be interesting to see who you guys want the Kings to play against and who you’d want them to avoid in the responses.

I personally want to play the Oilers the first round because I think they are the best team in the division and I want a rematch. The games were very good against them.

Seattle or Edmonton I guess. Pretty much anyone but Vegas. Edmonton is dangerous, but I do think we stack up well against them and even better than last season. The locker room will have revenge in their hearts as well so I am optimistic about our chances. Seattle would be a good matchup too I think, but they kind of have an underdog, be careful what you wish for, aura around them which could prove tougher than you'd expect.

I think Edmonton is going to be the most difficult team just because you can win by playing McDavid more. However there’s something that sounds so sweet about eliminating Draisaitl

Yeah not wishing for anyone in particular here

but the entire pacific is full of flawed teams who attempted to patch their issues, will be interesting to see who emerges

Grudge match vs. Edmonton would be some black and blue hockey though that's for sure, nice little rivalry developing there

I still think this thread is a bit jinxy but yeah, I never route for any one opponent to face. I remember thinking they would crush Vegas one year.

I don’t really care but if pushed Edmonton. I think we match up well and they will be under huge pressure.

The thing I hate about playing Edmonton is that every time McDavid has the puck I'm scared. Every time the Oilers are on the PP I'm terrified.

I don't have that same anxiety when playing some other teams like the Kraken or Knights.

That said, the Kings do tend to play the Oilers pretty well, and if Korpisalo is playing well, we could have a big advantage in net.

Id like to knock out Edm since think we own them mentally.. but we have to remember that winning the div could mean Wild, Avs, Jets.. Minnesota is stifling - shut us down, Avs getting healthier would not want them in the first round.

We matched up well with Edmonton....to start. But they learned to how to play playoff hockey against us as the series went on and were a much more formidable team by the end. I don't want to pick my poison here.

lol

would e the most kings thing ever

win the division/conference for the first time in recorded history

Reward: face a fullpower avs team

I'm surprised by people here saying the Oilers. I know we've beaten them twice this year, but I'm just terrified of McDavid. Practically won game 6 and 7 by himself. Assuming no injuries to start the playoffs and we get a healthy Doughty and Arvidsson I still like our chances, but I'd rather take my chances against Seattle, Vegas or Minnesota.

Darkhorse here I guess, but would love to play Winnipeg. Means we won the pacific.

As for those who question my discontent for Quick to be moved so early at the TDL, he is one period away from a shutout. Like I said Vegas will screwed us.

No touching the Oilers or Vegas first round would be ideal

If they win the division, it could be Winnipeg too. They are probably the best matchup, but low odds of happening.

I'd take the Kraken, obviously.

The Oilers series was extremely fun and it’s kinda pointless to play in the playoffs against the worst opposition since you’re gonna be playing them anyways

Edmonton vs Vegas for rd 1 is ideal. Addition by subtraction with Smith gone from the Oilers, also adding Ekholm so there’s less of Nurse.

I want to think that Todd has the upper hand against Hakstol and their goaltending.

At first glance I'd say Seattle, but they are improved very much, not sure their style suits to Kings
