You came away with a much different impression of PK than I think many of us did. Outside of the one turnover I thought he was great

Yeah agreed. I thought he looked dynamic and I guess some see dynamism/a flashy game as showboating?

You mean....Thank you, Castron and his International Scouting staff.

He was absolutely the ultimate "Diamond in The Rough" find in the 6th round.

Came out of literally nowhere to be where he is now.
Looking back I can't figure how Bratt dropped that far. The year prior to his draft season, he played with, and outproduced, a kid who went in the top 10.

Sometimes you dont need him to "keep up" sometimes you need a guy who can just come in late or be around the net. Thats what Simmonds can do. Also Simmonds has played with some high IQ players before and been just fine.

Exactly this. Be a trailer, and pick up garbage. And once a cycle starts, be an obstacle to tie up the D or C , roll off contact and head to the net. Dave Andreychuck style.

As much as I like all three of Gusev Hughes and Bratt , I don’t think that they should all be together as a line . No one for a net front presence , smallish , and can’t see them being great defensively as a group. Playing against a “heavy” line would not be fun.
1. Hall - Nico -Bratt -
looked good last year for the short time they were together

2..Gusev - Hughes -Palms
Palms as the trigger man for Hughes and Gusev.... very sexy

3.Boqvist - Zacha -Simmonds
Looks like a very good 3rd line to me .

4. Coleman Zajac Wood (I suck , I don’t know what wing Coleman and Wood are )

Wood and Coleman both generally play left but if they're together I'm definitely going with Coleman on the right. Wood has negative puck skills and shouldn't be on his off side

I think - and I'm just speculating here - that the NHL teams(aside from Castron) forgot Bratt even existed.

We hear the term "Flying under the radar" being overused but Bratt exemplifies this perfectly.

I don't think anyone is talking about keeping up with them regarding speed, more of the hockey iq...which wood has none of.

Who is the best 6th rounder to come out of the draft, in say last 6-8 years? Honest question.

What a find.

2011 - Josh Manson
2012 - Connor Brown
2013 - Alan Quine lol
2014 - Kevin Labanc
2015 - Andrew Mangiapane
2016 - Jesper Thundercock Bratt

Making the NHL 16 months after getting drafted as a 6th rounder is pretty historic. It's still pretty mind boggling what he's done
Yea, players drafted that late don't make the NHL in their D+2 season. It just doesn't happen.

Talvitie is going to be another huge 6th round success soon.

He needs to work with a skating coach to maximize his speed and edges. He’s got the other ingredients to be an NHL player including both brains and moxie. If Zacha had the brains and moxie that I think I’ve seen out of Talvite I think PZ would already be the player he was projected to be.

This isnt bad and even better if Goose can handle RW, remember he is a right handed. But this puts Zacha in the top 6 and we know how that has gone in the past. Also I have always liked the idea of Zacha helping out on faceoffs and some of those D assignments in Hughes first season. Also this doesnt have enough Boqvist who has been damn good in the prospects camp and tonight. Perhaps send Simmonds with Wood-Coleman and leave Bratt Zajac Boqvist as the 3rd line.
