We had several plugs in the lineup too. When you have Street, Hayden and Rooney all on the same team, usually isn't going to end well no matter how hard you play.

I'm pissed that Macs save percentage is going to take a hit, but they did manage to keep it respectable, which is what is was hoping for.

I absolutely love Simmonds. Like a lot. 100% want him signed here.

It was a good signing, but he's not a good player anymore.

He has 5 goals in his last 70 games and is barely a 30 point player anymore.

Now would I rather see Simmonds back in a 4th line winger role than Hayden or Rooney? Absolutely I would, but let's be serious. If he's re-signed here, it will be for the top-9 and he'll get PP time again and just ugh, he's cooked. His ability to play in the NHL is very limited anymore and eroding. It's no surprise, as this type of player ages very poorly. See David Clarkson or Ryane Clowe. Not that I wanna compare Clarkson to Simmonds, as Simmonds was MUCH better, but I think I made the point.

If he picks it up in the second half then I can change my mind, but not on this current pace.

Can't fault their effort tonight. We skated with one of the best teams in the league (supposedly) for long stretched, but got completely f***ed by the referees. League should be issuing the Devils a formal apology for this disgrace.
