Popular opinion here most likely

Jack is a star and could very well end up the most talented forward to ever put on our jersey.

This guy up here though? The pure heart and soul of the team. He is playing at such an impressive level this season and is showing why he deserved the C just two years ago.

I’m thrilled he’s ours.
Said it once and I'll say it again, dude is a prototypical Devil. I have big "Devil for life" vibes from Nico. He seems to like it here and management likes him. 4 years left on his deal after this one and I have a hard time seeing him not staying here long term after that.

He’s got what the kids today call “big-dick energy.”

You know I think we should trade out @SteveCangialosi123 now, bc his stats don't match the eye test.

@My3Sons evenhanded likeability is legit, but I think Lovejoy takes pumps his numbers.

Need more value posters like @Guttersniped. Substance AND popular takes. We need more of that.
Those Lovejoy takes are totally organic and almost always typed out from inside position. When you go hard to the keyboard good things happen.

Who would you like the Devils to play in the 1st round of the playoffs? Id like to face the Pens. Theyre not too gritty and i think we can outplay em
we would *demolish* the pens, as in how we did the flyers in 2012

look how we played them in their house a few days ago while we’re “struggling”

2009-10 vibes

LOL I'm still not anywhere near in the mood to play pick your opponent when we've won two of our last eleven games. But if we're stuck on the bubble it'll be more in the vein of Boston or Carolina regardless.

Helping your team score goals when you’re on the ice and preventing the other team from scoring is relatively important if you ask me. One could say it’s literally the most important thing, actually. “Analytics” tho
I know I’m hoping we get that corsi cup champ banner hanging this spring. Fingers crossed.

Among forwards, Jesper Bratt is number 1 in the NHL in CF%, number 7 in actual GF%, number 2 in xGF%, number 4 in HDCF%, number 20 in total 5 on 5 points. We cannot replace this player.

When you don’t even value literally GF%, you know you’ve lost the plot. There’s nothing else of more actual importance to winning hockey games. Sure, there can be luck involved there, but by expected goals he’s literally the 2nd best in the NHL. 🤡

take all the advanced stats out of it since they bother you so much for whatever reason (even though they are literally based on events that happen in the game)

Bratt is on pace for 82 points ~halfway through the season. To say that a point per game winger is "easily replaceable" is just absolutely nonsense on every level.

Yea I saw that, but also saw you had Bratt at 8 and Timo at something we'd be lucky to get him at. After saying "nonsense" and "if you think Bratt isn't getting 8+, you are kidding yourself" to multiple people.
Bro bratt is leading almost every offensive analytics stat possible or so I’ve just been told. We are going to have to pay easily 9+million those stats (as I’ve been told) are events that happened in game.

I really hope we can afford him then it sounds like he should command a massive contract no? 9+?

Patrik Laine makes 8.7 million dollars per year and Bratt is significantly better than him at hockey. But he likely won’t get that because he’s not a former top pick with lots of goals.

Also, get it straight. He’s not leading the way in “offensive analytics”, he’s been out there for 30 goals for and 13 goals against. Two way dominance.

I highly doubt the draft position is going to be held against him. If the stats you guys spew out are really that important he will be paid accordingly so will be interesting to see all those % stats being 2nd means he should get paid big bucks

You’re free to completely ignore any advanced stats. He’s a 24 year old with 40 goals 110 points in his last 113 games with a +14. Not much to complain about.

I'd say Hintz is a pretty good comparable for a Bratt deal. Would you agree? Looking at their stats, it's pretty similar and Hintz is a C.
