This is ELC to an 18 year old first time I've ever seen a thread like this. It wouldn't even get a thread on our own board. It did cause you posted it. It should of been posted in the AHL thread on the Devils board this isn't an nhl signing.

It quite literally is an NHL signing.
And an undrafted player getting a contract is not unheard of to get a thread.


If anything let's let the mods make the decision on its notability.

Was a little surprised that he didn't go in the last draft. I guess NJD really liked the maturity in his game. Hopefully his offensive side can develop a bit more and he continues to grow into his frame.

Yeah usually when their junior career is complete not an 18 year old who just went undrafted, this is a new one. Whatever.

For someone who doesn't think this deserves a thread, you're sure posting a lot in it. Hopefully this doesn't take up too much of your bandwidth.

I think it would be a bit much if every player signing an ELC got their own thread, but I don't mind when either higher profile (first rounders, highly-regarded college prospects, star European players) prospects get their own thread, or when undrafted players sign ELCs in camp because it's somewhat of a rarity (Three, so far, this year).

If it was a big deal, someone would have merged it into the Prospects thread. There are currently 17 moderators checking out this board, let them do their work.

I can't remember the last time I saw an undrafted prospect get signed this late into the season. If he's already reporting to his WHL, was there some sort of rule on when he could or couldn't be signed? Maybe they submitted the paperwork before he reported?

Possibly. He was on a PTO with the Devils, my guess is the contract was signed when it concluded.

How did this guy go undrafted? He's over a point per game from the back end with 2 goals and 8 points in 7 games, +3.

He's two points off the team lead in D scoring in 4 fewer games.
