Value of: Devils off-season house cleaning

Devils need to do some serious work this off-season .
im just trying to see what the possibility is of moving on from some roster pieces to try to build a better constructed , more well rounded roster .
This is a list of players I would like to move and replace with more “interior / heavy / gritty “ or whatever you want to call them players.
Looking for players that are hard to play against , good defensively , and can provide some offence (ya I know , join the line of teams wanting that ).

Please go over this list and let me know if you think anyone would be at all interested :
Tatar
Johnson
Zacha
McLeod
Ty Smith
Blackwood

I figure that there will be very little interest in those listed , if anything at all . Possibly Zacha Blackwood and Smith might have some value .
No sexy names in that list at all , I’m just seeing if they would generate any interest at all or if we are stuck with them until their contracts expire.


Need players of this type- Nichushkin Marchment . Both are UFA so hopefully we can add one or more of that type . Just giving an example of what we need. Those types of forwards and on D , we need a RHD and or a player in the mold of Seigenthaler ( good sized , youngish D very defensively sound that can handle a heavy forecheck and clear the crease/ win board battles.

Need a goalie in a massive massive way but those pieces we have are not getting anyone close to good enough .

Mercer
Gritsyuk (very very under rated prospect)
Mukhamadoulin
Bahl / Okhotiuk (like to keep , fills a need if moving Smith )


It would take an overpay to get one or more of those guys , but if something insane comes along (Hellebuyck / Tkachuk crazy ) , then I’d take a long hard look at the trade .

Maybe the Isles can trade for him then he gets to say it even more often . However , Ken Daneyko will be very very entertaining to listen to try to say his name.I’m sure Ken will just call him Shakir lol.

Meh , he is coming off of hip surgery . He looked like his skating was stil, there but time will tell . I can’t see anyone offer what the Devils would need to move on from him . He is important in the locker room and is one of our only high energy guys that can mix it up with the opposition

The Islanders can offer you the rights to a lightly used Thomas Hickey. Much easier to pronounce.

He wasn’t awful njt was very frustrating to watch. We have too many players of his type in the lineup. Plays on the permitter and not good along the boards or taking a hit to make a play etc etc .

Shara just a likely kept . He has shown to provide good value as a winger that works decent with Hughes .

Shara is better suited as a winger. He was not used at C much but then again , Devils had Hughes Nico and Mercer they all want at C.

The only people that want Zacha as a center is Zacha and his agent. Maybe his parents too . Thats about it . He is not good at C and is much much more effective on the wing.
Zacha would not cost a lot to acquire .

If the Habs trade Petry this off-season they will need someone to QB their power play.

Sharangovich is definitely out of reach. He is the only winger who completely clicks with Hughes. I would also say Mercer aint tradable either. As far as who im willing to trade this is my list
Zacha, Ty Smith, Blackwood, Johnsson, Tatar. If a team wants one of our high rated prospects like Holtz or Shakir then it would have to be for a top line winger who can jump into our lineup right now. I wouldn't want to part with Gritsyuk either being we don't have any high end RWs between him & Holtz. Gritsyuk is being compared to Panarin/Kaprizov. I would hate to trade a player that ends up somewhat as good as them.

Rumors that Bruins had talks about Zacha ( possible Debrusk swap).

I'd say Debrusk's stock has raised a little bit, could see a deal with +'s on each side to even it out.

well, on the Avs after Kadri leaves... both would totally be put at C. hell I guess even Subban if we brought him would play in the middle. lol theres a reason NCAA star Ben Meyers signed with the Avs and is exactly because after this season, only the 1C position will be occupied. everything down should be up for grabs, with possibly Newhook occupying one of the spots, if they cant sign or trade for someone.

Well he started off the season with an injury so he didn't get a proper pre season camp. Most of all though is that he just doesn't have a place on our team because we can't utilize his strengths properly. He is the type of defenseman that needs PP time etc. On NJ he just isn't getting it between Hamilton, Severson & soon to be Luke Hughes. His talents would be best utilized if he went to a team that needs a puck moving dman. Thats New Jerseys last need atm which is why he is squeezed out of our organization.

Sorry but Mercer is off the table imo...Couple of years he will be a beast to play against....
