I don't recall that but I've been away, last game I went to was the Minnesota game. Which games are you referring to?
They haven't had many games with full capacity.
I've been to a few games since it has gone to full capacity including the 4-0 shutout against Dallas. Fans certainly were happy that night. But pretty sure it wasn't Mrazek in net :sarcasm: But in reality, perhaps not as much for Mrazek, but Soup has built up so much goodwill with the city that fans celebrate every save even when he is struggling. Lots of Soup chants. But maybe you are right...if Mrazek struggles it could be the beginning of the bronx cheers tonight. Hope it doesn't get to that.

Amen to that!

Many cindrellas have occurred in Cup history .. Roy, Ward, Murray are top of mind recently .. need right mentality .. nobody nowhere anywhere is gonna beat me .. i think we will see 1 of 2 kids play for us in playoffs .. Soup and Mrazek are not da ones
I respect the thought, I just think that there is a higher probability Campbell regains his form, than a guy with three NHL games is the saviour.

Mrazek didn't just forget how to goalie.

I'm fine with this -- where we finish in the standings is not as important as getting our goalie situation figured out.

Though, if he lays an egg tonight again -- that should be it for him.

Goaltending needs to get back on track starting tonight. Its the time of year to fine tune things which is difficult when needing to work around a major issue.

I have faith that Toronto will win this game, pretty sure that Toronto will spot Petr Mrazek at least six or seven goals. So they could have a cardboard cut-out in net and probably still win. I mean, a huge bulk of his wins is due to Toronto scoring five or more goals for him when he’s letting in at least four.

I just wish Petr Mrazek would learn where the goal posts are, play less aggressive, then maybe he wouldn’t let in 2-3 soft goals virtually every game.

Toronto fans may like to rag on the goaltender a lot over the years here, but I think Petr Mrazek has earned every criticism that he’s been given and then some. It’s really hard to find anything positive to say about his game or to have any faith in him tonight, I know I have zero faith in him. That’s being overly negative, but I can’t change how his play makes me feel about him.

We have a B2B coming up this weekend, so he will likely get in again regardless (we are not trusting Hutchinson over Mrazek). After that, though, it could be Campbell - Kallgren if Mrazek doesn't show consistent improvement, since I imagine Campbell will be ready by next week some time.

He is not a guy who gets mentally phased. That is one positive about him. It is one thing if bad stuff is going in, but another if you are letting it get even worse because you are not mentally in it.

He has had a chance to reset. He hasn't played in a week and a half. He has cleared waivers in that time. I think he already knew that his last few games have been really bad and it has not been counterbalanced by the rest of his play.

There is a reason he earned his contract, and there is a good chance he starts to bounce back sooner rather than later.

Time to start preparing for our annual B's / Leafs first round match up. Imagine TB playing Fla as the wildcard?
I would love to play them. An opportunity to end that rivalry on top. Especially if we beat them in less than 7 games something they were never able to do against us.

I can understand your thought process, but I don't think we can rely on a AHL goalie any more than Mrazek in the short term. I think you need to give Campbell and Mrazek another 10 games to see if they can figure it out. I think (well really more like hope) that he can.
So you go up to Kallgren and say "Despite you getting a shut out vs Dallas, getting us the win vs Carolina and keeping us in the game until the unnecessary penalty by Clifford vs Nashivlle, you are just an AHL goalie and for us to win, we need to hope that the sieve we have turns it around. We just can't depend on you, so he gets the start."?
