A few people have posted this same thought... I just want to mention that it is not a hard working high energy team that has been the undoing of Mrazek... it is random nothingness that ends up in the back of the net. So, the fact Jersey is on a b2b is irrelevant as far as the goalie goes imo. As for the rest of the roster, yes... it should matter... but if we have to win by outscoring a team on a b2b, I don't see how that can be a positive.

Montreal may be a shit team but they absolutely get up for games against Toronto, Boston etc.

This is about the playoffs. Kallgren goes in, you are basically hoping for a cinderella run. Mrazek is the experienced goalie. We need one of him or Campbell in form if we want any chance. Kallgren is a last resort due to his inexperience.

Mrazek likely has to play on the weekend anyway. He's still on the team, and they need him back in some sort of form. I'll probably change my tune 10 minutes into the game, but as of now I'm ok with the decision to start him tonight.

I can understand your thought process, but I don't think we can rely on a AHL goalie any more than Mrazek in the short term. I think you need to give Campbell and Mrazek another 10 games to see if they can figure it out. I think (well really more like hope) that he can.

The other side of this, is you have to rehabilitate Mrazek's value, at least to the point that you can move him in the offseason, if you don't have confidence in him long term.
Also, we want to let Campbell heal as long as possible, to give him the best chance to regain form. Early season Campbell, would be huge for this team.... let's give ourselves the best chance at getting there.

Tbh, in typical Leafland fashion, Mrazek probably shuts the door tonight. Gets all the emotional Leafs fans in a tizzy, talking about "omg maybe he's regained his form!? Maybe he's about to go on a run...if he gets his game back, he might even be our starter for the playoffs!!"....
And then we'll all get the sillys slapped out of us when he gets absolutely torched in his next start on the weekend haha

It doesn’t matter. Mrazek is terrible and he has more then proven that over the course of the entire season.

Many cindrellas have occurred in Cup history .. Roy, Ward, Murray are top of mind recently .. need right mentality .. nobody nowhere anywhere is gonna beat me .. i think we will see 1 of 2 kids play for us in playoffs .. Soup and Mrazek are not da ones
