One of the Sabres' best in the 80s. He scored a big playoff goal IIRC for the Leafs but his best years were in Buffalo. Was a good coach for Sudbury.

I never expected him to get the job, though he was a Lemaire buddy like Shaw and Barr. He also never coached with Lemaire either like those two did.

I don't think so. What the coach says as far as tactics is the way it goes and assistant coaches just work with what the coach wants.

I think you're correct, but I also think it's almost impossible for us, as fans, to tell when assistant coaches are making that good impact.

So the million dollar question. It probably doesn't matter (It didn't with Shaw) but how was Anaheim's PP when he was there? I know they had better offensive talent than us, so it was probably better anyway.
