Is this really even a topic today all because nobody jumped an old, often injured player for throwing a hit on our best player?

Good idea.. Cause you'll most likely prove out to be wrong again like Nemec shit ass play last year. I'm out now.

"He might be the 6th Damn no way he'll be out of the lineup"

Aged well

Was this a quote of mine? If so, yes, you caught me. We all expected Kovacevic to play so well that sending Nemec back to Utica would be the easy move to make.

If not, that's even funnier.

And to be clear, I think there's a lot of value in finishing checks, being aggressive on the forecheck and at the boards, being able to body teams when you need to and generally not playing "soft". Give as little ground as possible at all times.

I just think there's no value it taking dumb ass penalties because you're in your feels. Want to get in there and do some shoving back and forth, have at it. Scrums are scrums I think these are generally officiated well, just don't go overboard. But I also think a lot of the "softness" people bitch about is often misplaced. Nico wins a ton of board battles....I consider that a form of not being soft and it's one of the ways I'd prefer him to not be soft.

Ah, I see Jim is finding something else to cry about since the team has actually been pretty good his this year.

Thank goodness, I was getting worried he wouldn't say much during the season

Honestly, I was getting confused and a little scared seeing optimistic Jim for so long. It's just disorienting, like if your compass suddenly started pointing east.

This is more like it.

I will say this- Dougie not doing literally anything to Pacioretty after Jack got hit did kind of annoy me in the moment. I realize that that is not his game, but give the guy a face-wash or something.
He certainly could've at the very least grabbed him without getting a penalty. The lack of a response was very lame.

What do they need to do? Start with targeting other teams top players, then goad said team into evening it up. If that doesn't happen, oh well, kill the penalty.

That's sounds f***ed up I know lol but we've been on the short end or every single one of these. Our guys have been run time and time again with zero consequences from the league in game, via suspensions or our supposed goons. Our new found "tough" persona or so called "enforcers" have done jack shit regarding this. Wow we took someones number after our guy gets wrecked and has a meaningless staged fight (the "code" which is a bullshit cop out) later on where the guy turtles.

Kovys hit last night was waaaaay worse than Beniers Cup ending major but nothing came of it, a measly 2 minutes. Whenever our guys actually stepped in we've gotten penalized. When we do get a PP from said incident we've failed to capitalize. I would dare to say that the aggressor has benefitted over the victim in every incident. Take liberties and ask for forgiveness later.
