The weird thing is the team hasn't been soft this year. We've been physical much more than last year.

I'm sure we got outhit by a ton last night, as we had the puck probably 3 or 4 times as much as they did. Hitting us was the only thing they could do last night.

I don't think anyone wants to hurt Pacioretty too hard. I mean it when I say he's the hockey/athlete equivalent of an old and disabled man at this point. Guy is so rickety at this point that I wouldn't be surprised if we find out that he hurt himself hitting Jack lol.

People want to say the team is soft. Who on the Devils is going to do a simple thing like Benn in this video and retaliate with a huge hit the first chance they can get it ? The only players I can think of are maybe Cotter , Noesen , Haula , Dillon or Kovacevic.

Benn is a large top six guy. The equivalent on our team should be Timo. We’ve seen some of this from him but probably not enough. I think it’s perfectly fair to say it’s soft. There’s several different ways teams can respond to opponents’ “toughness”…see my previous post.
