And yet he played 13 years in the best league in the world, for multiple teams and a myriad of coaches. Try cold water.

He does a niche job well, I'd take him on the PK any day. There are hundreds of replacement level players that were pretty good at faceoffs or had some other niche skillset that played a lot of games as well, do you think that's somehow a relevant point?

A 20 year old 2nd round pick playing in the AHL. What a concept.
All im sayin' is he aint't ready for the big show.. need more seasoning.

We can give him all the oportunites he wants, yet he still end up back in the AHL.

Yea they'll be weak.

Out - Dylan Larkin, Robby Fabbri, Tyler Bertuzzi (vaccine), Filip Zadina, Givani Smith, Marc Staal, Carter Rowney...

This will be their lineup,

Hirose - Veleno - Raymond
Vrana - Suter - Gagner
Erne - Rasmussen - Sundqvist
Elson (if they get registration in time)- Stephens

Dekeyser - Seider
Walman - Hronek
Juolevi - Lindstrom
Oesterle

This is a game to blow them out of the water and clinch home ice.

Would be nice to win and rest a bunch of players vs the bruins - ie: Tavares, Giordano, Brodie etc.
You know we roll at the level of our competition. Let's make sure we have home ice.

Exactly. All out tonight to break some records and give a bunch of guys about a week off after.

Actually you’re the only one talking about the PK, like that was his only attribute. Your premise is flawed.

Im not going to be a great defender of Polak, but the point stand he was a serviceable d man for 16 seasons.

Anyone else not really care if Matthews hits 60 or not ?

This is the exact kind of game our Leafs like to lose! They don't start on time, surrender a lead, and come up short in the end!

They'll play down to their competition and look like the weaker team!

Come on leafs, please prove me wrong for this game! And AM, get to 60 TONIGHT!

60 is a nice way to set up 70 in subsequent seasons.

"...We have a Hulk." comes to mind.

a good game to practice before the playoffs.... that's right lurking wings fans I brought up the playoffs... damn you guys suck

...PSA: ignore this post and watch it blow up in my face

At least Brodie is back on his natural side. I understand the need to move him to the left when Muzzin was out, but he's such a core piece on the blue line at least going into the playoffs I hope it sticks (i.e. no more injuries)

lol, robertson on the 2nd line in round 1 vs def champs? lol lol

Caufield was on the first line in the cup final less than 12 months ago, right after finishing his college season.

The point is to spread players around and given them better depth.

Robertson - Tavares - Nylander
Kerfoot - Blackwell - Kase

Vs

Kase - Tavares - Nylander
Kerfoot - Blackwell - Robertson/Spezza

I assume Spezza or Simmonds will be in for NR come game one, but NR's shown hes ready to make the jump with his play as a 20 year old in the AHL - and I think giving him some elite linemates will help him, given hes not going to be the primary puck carrier on a 2nd line with JT and Nylander anyway.
