Maatta I think they wanna keep, but i'd guess a 2nd.
Erne a 3rd or a 4th.
Sundqvist I think they keep him but if traded a 2nd.
Suter for a 3rd.
This

Don't forget 2 unsigned pieces in Larkin and Bertuzzi
Bertuzzi might, No way is Larkin getting traded. Once again Yzrman has said that he has to June 30th to re-sign him.

I think the Jets could reasonably offer a 2023 3rd and Declan Chisholm for Sundqvist. Chisholm is buried behind a lot of LD here, but he's an AHL all-star because there's some skill to his game. If Ville Heinola is to be given a roster spot next year, I'd say that all but guarantees Chisholm doesn't have the room to crack the Jets lineup. Detroit seems rather uncertain at LD for next year, and he had a pretty good game in Detroit last year for the Jets, maybe caught some attention.

Sundqvist would address probably the weakest position in terms of depth on the Jets. Mason Appleton has been out since November and hard to say how healthy he will be coming back, seems like a pretty serious freak injury. Jets have been plugging away to replace him, but I feel like that's a position where the Jets would like to shore up. Be an upgrade over Kuhlman, and quite possibly an upgrade on Appleton.

Detroit has 3+ prospects for LD next year.

Edvinsson, Wallinder, and Johansson. Not even including any of the NCAA kids.

So LD is not a place where they want create a logjam.

i realize this is a very doubtful trade , but maybe copp signs off on it to go play for a cup . and maybe nyr interested as copp did good for them last season so might be a good fit :
copp retained down to 4 mil per , and if nyr want one of detroits depth guys like mentioned by op . for a short term bad contract , and one of rangers 2023 1st ?

Copp gets alot of grief on the Wings board but he isn't going anywhere. We lack depth in the middle and cant afford to lose Copp. Long term he is our #3 ,but until we develop or acquire someone else.. it is what it is. He isnt untouchable but it would take more of an over payment which no one is going to feel comfortable with.

Id imagine asking price for Bert is high and id imagine Larkin is astronomical, I think Steve tries to sign him in the off season.

my outlook is if can get the future asset without care of this seasons results as ide prefer one more early first any way before we move up in standings next season . then go after ror as ufa in summer to replace copp and become another excellent mentor / leader

Im not saying its a bad option, I just dont see it happening. 1st year of a 5 year deal and Yzerman and Lalonde likely want to continue pushing for results now.

I think Copp is fine, he is not lighting the world on fire but he is also more of a stop gap #2, If we address our center depth this off season we will be very lucky to have him as a #3 for the next 4 years.

Whats Maatta cap hit ?

2.25 for 1 year.

What would you want from the Oilers. Keep in mind we have to send a contract back. Puljujarvi + ?

How is Erne's defensive game these days? I think TB will be in the market for a defensive winger. I know Erne isn't known for that, but usually Yzerman guys wind up pretty responsible if they're gonna stick around.

He's better on the PK than 5on5, he's the 2nd wave of forwards on the kill. I think for whatever reason he's more focused, but that's true for quite a bit of the team.

Extended 5on5 d-zone shifts it's only a matter of time before a switch gets missed and someone is wide open. The Wings struggle maintaining proper coverage of defensemen either on the point or pinching low. And that's mainly on the wingers.

He's the most physical of our forwards and defensively pretty much average for our group.
