Oilers can put the final nail in the coffin tonight.

Hopefully they end the misery.

How the mighty have fallen. Oilers and the Flames are legit now. Who knows when we will make the playoffs again with four strong teams in the Pacific.

Sharks are getting up in age as well. They've been better than us at injecting youth, but be sure that when Thornton, Marleau, Vlasic and Pavelski all start tapering off, they probably will taper off as a team as well.

Are the Kings Officially out of playoffs if the Oilers win?

No, but Oilers, Sharks, and Ducks all clinch tonight if they do. Flames clinch tomorrow if they win. Kings have 6pts to give up. Essentially if the Kings lose or Blues win any combination of 3 games, they are out.

Anyway, I bet the Kings win all their remaining games after elimination.

Didn't like Doughty's comments the other day on getting 'schooled' by McDavid. Sounded like loser talk. Slippery slope to talking about getting 'rekt' by Tkachuk, or 'owned' by Perry or something.

Thought he had more pride than that.

Should be a big Oiler win. That place should be pretty loud with a playoff spot within grasp. McDavid should be flying. Maroon, Kassian, and Lucic I'm sure will be into it physically. The Oilers have the best, and the Kings have the worst, records against the Pacific division by Pacific division teams.

The only question for the Kings would be, will Carter go 20 games without a goal with a goalie in the net?

I like that he recognized the reality. I'm not worried because he seems to be the kind of player that will work to ensure it doesn't happen again.

Well he did. Better to own getting owned/schooled than pointlessly denying what's clear as day on video. Got beat by McDavid, and he's been off since day 1 of the season. The defending Norris winner has been at best alright this season, which wasn't good enough.

I think he needs to change his off-season attitude. Guy says he does nothing related to hockey in the off-season. I think he needs to consider at least conditioning and keeping himself up.

I guess you missed the part where he talked about completely owning CM until that game. DD is the last person on the planet I would worry about for "loser talk". I agree with others that he really needs to get serious in the offseason (his shot primarily).
