Been our 3rd best player behind Nash and Stepan IMO.

He's just been a better player. That's it. Everything about his game has taken a step up.

Yes the scoring is nice, but his whole game is elevated.

It makes the whole season that much more frustrating. We've been a barren wasteland of centers my whole life, and suddenly we have this lethal 1-2 punch, and we still suck. On one hand, I feel like we're wasting it. On the other hand, I feel like if our top 2 centers play this well, our record has to improve.

If I remember correctly, in his first game he had 1 goal and 3 assists. I am happy he is still improving and at this point, he's even a better player than Gaborik. We won that trade even if it was Brassard straight up for Gaborik.

If, and that's a big if, Step and Brass continue to play at their current level the rest of the pieces will fall into place.

But if Hank and the defense doesn't improve it doesn't matter how well our forwards play.

Brassard is showing why he was such a high pick for the CBJ's

Yeah, don't wanna jinx it, but he's been very consistent this year. Very stable and mature game out of him.

He was always a guy that was on fire for 2 weeks and then disappeared, but this year so far he's showed up every night.

More importantly, outside of maybe a couple of missed passes, he's been mistake free. Also looked like he came in terrific shape, with a better physical stature than previously seen.

Both Brass and Step are close to a ppg. Hope this production lasts (and I don't see why it wouldn't) at least it's been good not to see posts that $5 m per Brass got was a huge overpayment.

Brass has also been absolutely stoned a few times in recent games. Very pleased with his performance this year--he is really stepping up and earning every bit of his contract.

Brassard is just a NYC player, I don't know what it is.

He's responded really well to the new contract and increased responsibilities.

He also quietly had three assists last night.

He was also the reason Nash was able to go on the attack on his 2nd goal, Brassard baited Orpik by not playing the puck, and taking the hit so Orpik would go out of position ala Tanner Glass.

How did Brassard only have like 45 points last season with how dominant his line was most of the season? I don't think he's playing THAT much better this season.

Substituting Pouliot for Nash might have something to do with it.

Having Nash and his 23 goals on his line has obviously contributed. As for this season, I definitely think he's been playing more consistent. He's been under the radar good so far this year and has been a pretty big contributor to this team's success.

Yes, but that line was still killing it last year. I understand why it's higher this year, I don't understand why he had only 45 points last year. 55 seems more reasonable.

That line was probably one of the best lines the Rangers have iced post-lockout. When they didn't get anything on the scoreboard, they were still creating A LOT of scoring chances while generally playing a beautiful offensive game. As a poster said, if Pouliot had Nash-like scoring abilities, point totals will jump out at you more.

I honestly think that that line while less effective on the scoreboard created more chances and this is with Nash playing like a man possessed.

"Powerplay specialist and nothing more"

That's what he was described as as early as his resigning this summer

Because for his whole career he's been a middle six center who excels on the PP.

He's BY FAR having the best season of his career. He's been outright dominant on a lot of nights this season, and it's pretty rare for someone to make such a jump at 27 years old. Let's hope it carries on til the end of the season.

I always expect players to have their best year at 27-ish. Peak-age.
