Brassghost lol. Guy is half the size of his "elite" winger and three times the heart. Give me a goal scorer over an assist guy any day of the week. Throw in the fact he makes 3 million less looks even better

It was friggin sarcasm. Come on.

Brassard is very good second line center. He can fill on the top line for stretches, and he has spurts where he is scorching hot.

Of course he also has stretches where the flames go out, but all-in-all he does a very good job with his role.

This was not true this year.

I'll respectfully disagree.

He went almost the entire month of December without scoring goal (before finally netting one on New Year's Eve) with almost the reverse for February.

In March he had a stretch where he went 8 of 10 games where he went without a point, he had a similar stretch in December where a strong game against Pittsburgh was the only salvation for a pretty abysmal 9 game stretch.

He's come a very long way from his Columbus days and is a very important part of this team. But a model of consistency he is not.

I mean without even trying hard we just found two stretches that account for almost a quarter of the season.

People complained that though he scored, he had only 1 assist, so Brassard just added a pair of assists. He's at 8 points in 11 playoff games, which is .73 per game or 60 points per 82 games. First line production from a guy people doubted could be a 2C, and all that while having two offensive anchors (Nash and St. Louis) as his linemates for much of that time. Great player, I love Brass.

Brassard played like a #1C this year. 60 point centers are #1Cs. Lower end #1Cs but still #1Cs.

Jesus that post was friggin sarcasm.

And LOL at Nash being an "offensive anchor"

Really happy with this. Great job by Brass tonight. Also toughed out whatever happened to him early in the game. I don't know what it was, but he was bent over & had trouble getting to the bench after one of his shifts.

I think I'm one of the people you're referring to... and it wasn't a complaint. It was pointing out a double standard.

How many scoring plays, goals or assists, in the playoffs has Brassard been involved in that Rick Nash has not? 2. Both on the powerplay. Vice versa is also true. That line needs both of them contributing, whether it's Brassard scoring the goals or Nash scoring the goals. I don't really care which one.

Rick Nash has one less point overall, and one more at even strength. :teach:

On the line of Nash-Brassard-MSL, this playoff season, who is the anchor? Rick Nash? Hahahaha

Wait do you seriously think what you just posted shows what an underrated scorer Nash has been in these PO's? Naturally you left out any and all context because context would obliterate such a poor point. Brassard has been a much better scorer in the PO's than Nash. It's not even debatable. Goals to assists, past playoffs. I' m not one of those who says nash is horrific but you aren't being realistic with that post. You come off as really oblivious.

This guy sucks. No wonder Islander fans said he wouldn't be among their top 4 centers. F'ing minor leaguer. Five points, that's it tonight. There are games when 2, maybe even 3 Knicks score more than 5 points in a game.

10 Shots on goal. +5. Hat Trick. 2 Assists. Just disgusting... Brassard opened up a can of whoop-*** on Tampa tonight.

EDIT: Add to that 2 Takeaways, No Giveaways, and won more than half his faceoffs.

Liam McHugh just said no Ranger player since the 1980's has put up a 5 point game since Brassard.
