Blake getting it done!

I guess it depends on what else happens, but getting two depth RHD, does that say anything good about Doughty and Roy?

If they make a bigger move, then they're expecting them back relatively soon. If they don't, they're adding a warm body to the NHL roster, so that someone can probably be sent down to help Allard and Ontario in their playoff situation. Because, so far, nothing has been about helping the Kings.

As soon as Drew went from dtd to IR, I figured we were f***ed for at least a month, so this is probably the correct take. That being said, allow me to indulge in my tomfoolery

Looks like the Kings are not going to make a big splash to save the season. The asking price may be too high for the big names. We will just have to ride it out with your youngsters until the injured players come back. Not sure we will make the playoffs with the squad as is, especially considering DD may be out longer.

Which is probably the 'right' move, even if we fall out of the playoffs. Dance with who brought you and all, these guys are gonna be given a chance to run with it. Viva La Replacements!

Hang onto your butts though, it's gonna be a roller coaster month if the last several games are any indication heh

I agree. It’s not very exciting and not what we are checking the ‘trade tracker’ every 5 minutes for, but it’s probably the smart play.

There are plenty of GM’s that would panic right now and make some big moves to try and stay in the play off hunt. Those GM’s lose their jobs before the end of the following season. They need to stick to the plan and the specific targets they have on their radar.

I like Allard so I feel good about this move but it's a minor league deal that has virtually no bearing on the pro team. It is interesting how much focus they are putting on depth defensemen though with Stetcher and Allard, as well as Hickey joining the Reign. I guess they figure they'll need it which likely says that it's possible some of these injuries are long term and there's a very reasonable chance we won't be adding anyone to fill in for them so the kids will have to do. I assume Blake will touch on the injuries in the post-deadline interview.

Burke is a pretty solid player in the AHL but the Kings are definitely looking for defensive depth right now after all the injuries.
