Seems like a solid get for the Commies.

Can't imagine the price will be exorbitant given he's owed money + he wasn't exactly great in 2024.

Edit: Cost was a 5th. Never mind, that's a fantastic trade.

Gotta take advantage of their window with Daniels on a rookie deal, fantastic trade.
Yeah i wasn't expecting a haul, but i thought at least the Niners would get like a 2nd + a lower round pick or something.

That's pretty trivial value for Washington even if he doesn't bounce back to form.

IMO their window is closing, their best chance to win was with Purdy on his rookie contract but now that hes going to get a mega extension, Deebo gone, Aiyuk possibly leaving, Kittle getting older and CMC's body failing him their window might just be shut.

Feels like the 49ers built a pretty awesome roster for a couple of seasons there only to be undone by injuries every time. Deebo is one of those guys who is amazing when healthy but who also seems to always be playing through some kind of injury.

They did have a very good roster, but before this year they didn't lose because of injuries. They were quite healthy the prior two years. The issue is that they didn't spend any money on depth so when they actually encountered injuries they fell apart.

Just a 5th? Geez.
If you expected more, that isn’t how trades of guys at the end of their second contract go down. Rare to see more than a day 3 pick for guys in this situation. Have to be elite like Adams whom I still believe LV overpaid to get.

Over the cap is showing Deebo as a $31.5 mill dead cap charge if this is a pre June 1 trade.

From a 49ers fan standpoint, this feels like a lopsided trade. Ok, Samual wasn't great last year, but you have a duel threat receiver and running back and all it took was a 5th? They couldn't toss in another late round pick in there somewhere?

My favorite 2024 moment involving Deebo was when he got community noted

I really thought they were going to have to cut him, so big win. He looked cooked last year, and reports are team felt he was way overweight.

Truthfully though, the biggest thing was the pneumonia. He was fine before it, and horrific after. So maybe he just needed more time to recover and get back into shape and will get back to being a quality player next year

A huge get for Washington, with Daniels on his rookie deal you gotta maximize the talent around him.

Only cost them a 5th, not bad
$17.5 mill cap charge for Deebo for Wash to take on. I mean, Buffalo gave Shakir about $16 mill per year over 4 years (basically a 2 year $16 mill per deal). Deebo is 29 (jan birthday). So, I don't foresee another big contract coming his way. Worth the cap number to bring him in.

SF, opting for a 5th to eat all of the $31 mill dead cap in 2025 season. Could have him post June 1 to spread that out over 2025 and 2026. Currently have $66 mill in dead cap for the 2025 season. Mostly from Deebo, Armstread, Ward ($59 mill between this trio). Plus, exect Hargraves to be cut as well.

Should then see a bunch of restructured contracts from SF to account for the above dead cap charges.

If my favorite team was dumb enough to trade for Deebo Samuel they wouldn’t be my favorite team anymore
What a ridiculous comment. They gave up a 5th round pick for a guy who might still be good or at least decent. You must be pretty fickle to give up on your team over something like that.
