Dean Lombardi for USA

The more I think about it, the more baffled I am with the selection of David Poille as USA GM/President.

I feel like a lot of it was politics with USA hockey. A very well liked guy, experienced and it was time he went up to bat for the position. And from a fans view, we were okay with it because he know Poille as a guy who takes a very financially stringent team and always makes them somewhat competitive or a playoff team.

Now the more I think of it. I would have loved to have either Ray Shero or Dean Lombardi, mostly the latter, than Poille.

And the more I look into Dean Lombardi and see his philosophy, see his resume and see his credentials. I wish USA hires him now for World Champs, World Cup and hopefully the Olympics in 2018.

He knows what type of guys it takes to build a competitive team and his last minute signings/trades have been widely recognized as game changers.

No way, it's better for Lombardi to make legitimate analysis and have Burke mock him for it.

I fail to see how Poile being the GM mattered all that much in the big scheme of things. Would Bobby Ryan or Kyle Okposo have made the differance in the SF game against Canada? Was Poile responsible for the lack of enthusiasm for the bronze medal game?

IMO Lombardi and Stan Bowman should both be given prominent roles in USA Hockey.

I agree, Lombardi is a great hockey mind.

Anybody other than the clown act of Shero and Burke. Lombardi now has two cups under his belt, he should have a much more significant role with US Hockey.

I can agree to Lombardi and Bowman moving forward - 4 Cups between them last 5 years....
