Dahlin was our best defenseman and he played with a back injury. So what about the rest?
Dahlin is an $11M defenseman though, the guy is paid to be a top 3 defenseman in this league, and a difference maker ever single game for Buffalo.

So far this year, he has not been

That's not how it works, he's paid like a franchise D in a city with no palm trees and high taxes. Again, you ignored that Dahlin suffered a back injury early in training camp and played with it all season, it's hardly common for a player to seem unable to play a physical game and move consistently, maybe he was playing on shots or painkillers, but there's a limit to everything. Dahlin is definitely not the problem, he's the solution, look at how our defense looks without him, like a pile of garbage.

If you watched the last 3 games and can't see that Dahlin is absolutely a difference maker than I just don't know what to say. The guy actually had good metrics paired with Joker, which would be like a pro wrestler having a great match working with Ultimate Warrior or Great Kahli.

Adams' defensiveness makes me wonder what he's trying to grasp at when he's saying things about "you're not seeing what we're seeing". I don't think that's being blinded by analytics, I think that's just Adams thinking he knows more others in the room about the people he has invested in and being unable to pivot off of them.

I do think they lack enough fresh eyes coming in to look things over - not advocating a PoHO, but their scouting staff just below Adams has been the same collection of guys for years. f***, Kevin Devine is still on staff and he's been with them since 1998. Jakubowski? 11 years. Forton? 11 years in the scouting department, 12 with the team. Crowe? Eight years.

There isn't anyone in there that has built a playoff team, let alone any sort of winner. And those are folks Adams has directing a bunch of his personnel decisions.
Regarding "you're not seeing what we're seeing"- This seems kinda similar to what Kevyn used to say about what they saw from Tage in practice, before he broke out in actual games. Except this time he's not being specific like he was with Tage. Smells of BS to me.

And yes. They absolutely need to clean house on the scouting staff.

$11M defenseman. I hold him to the highest standard.

Yea but if he’s getting $20M a year, he can make himself become a robot
