Day 1 aren't the only moves. Season starts in October

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. I take it a step further, there is even more time before the trade deadline.

For me, as long as the Leafs D is solid this team can ride any rough spots to the playoffs. Just get in position and rent as needed at the deadline.

Also, it may not be popular with the advanced stats only fans, but I have no worry whatsoever of running a 4th Simmonds and Clifford together with a tenacious centre while Kampf is a solid defensive 3rd line centre who can play responsibly with anyone.

I've been saying "balance up and down the lineup" since I was a young Padawan. Leafs best showing in my lifetime only had one scoring line, they now have two.

Leafs may not have improved, but I don't see them discernably worse. I really wish Boosh stayed though. That is a simple guy I feel helped create an identity they lack.

I’m all about physical hockey but simmonds and Clifford are done.

If we bring them back I will be upset. We need young big lads who can skate and play a heavy game.

Ideally yes. However, with what cap space? Furthermore, the intangibles they bring isn't just the physical play, simply put they care. Giving a damn matters, especially with this team.

Big, physical, heavy players never seem to materialize in Toronto. So, some long in the tooth players who at least are proud enough to get in the mix will have to work.

With all that cap space in sure there is going to be a lot of big moves coming. I don't see the roster changing that much. Trading Kerfoot isn't the answer as who ever comes back will be equal or a downgrade.

Be upset all you want then, where do we get that cap space to bring in these lads?

teams arent exactly racing to get Holl. You'd get a late draft pick for him or someone else' shitty player back and probably not a big lad, Big Guy
 
So to be clear.

Toronto loses Campbell. Mrazek. Miky and bosh.

For Samsonov. Murray. Kubalik.

Tampa traded palat mcdonagh. Rutta for Myers. Cole. Namestikov.

Florida traded giroux. Marchment and chia rot for Eric staal. Marc staal and white.


And people are worried about Toronto?????

Simmonds types are fine if they can play, but our 4th line was unplayable and thats mainly because of Simmonds and Clifford. Our signing today of Kubel was a good start. Small but perfect 4th liner. 150 something hits and great fore checker. One more like that would be good.
Lyb is fine but not at 2.8.
You'll be happy to know Dubas said he is looking for a RHD with an edge. We are clearly not done.

Leafs have more than enough cap space especially when they move Holl or possibly Kerfoot.

Sign: Engvall for ($2M 3 YEARS) If he take's less, great.
Sign: Dylan Strome ($4M - 3 YEARS) I'm sure he want's to come here and would take $4M to make it happen.

Bunting - Matthews - Marner
Tavares - Strome - Nylander
????????/Robertson - Engvall - Aube-Kubel/Gaudette
Kampf - Douglas - Gaudette/Aube-Kubel

CAP SPACE: $1,931,884 to sign a LW for the third line or use Robertson. Or a LW and fourth line Center to replace Douglas.

I think the goalie situation is set so we can probably judge that. So, here you go....

 
I'd say so, especially since I can't imagine the season starting without the likes of Kadri, Palat, Klingberg, D. Strome, etc. ;)

You're seriously acting as if no other goalies let in bad goals. Vasilevsky has had multiple goals scored on him that look similar. Someone just took time out of their day to compose multiple videos into one.

Are you seriously trying to equate one goal in one game to multiple goals against multiple teams and an entire season ??
